  1. I questioned these same policies in Vancouver for years. I was told by all of the usual suspects that I was a selfish, uncaring fascist. Then these folks moved onto the next Current Thing,

  2. I have posted this before and will post again. I am 73 and I am so tired of stupid people, especially those on the Left. The Left is always saying that there are too many people in this world and you would think they would welcome the deaths of people from fentanyl and other opiods. But as our youngest brother (a chartered accountant) said, they only want black and brown people dead.
Yes, it is sad that these people have fallen into addiction. But I have worked with people like this (and our older brother was the same when he got into crack cocaine), they all think it will not happen to them, despite overwhelming evidence that it will. Back when I was a little girl in Edmonton, it was drunks on the street, now it is addicts. I only go to downtown Regina if I absolutely have to.

    1. “I am 73 and I am so tired of stupid people, especially those on the Left.”

I’m two days away from being halfway between 82 and 83, and believe me they don’t get any better….any of them.

    2. no worries , they are replacing them with 60 million folks from the worst places in the world

    3. Oh my God! You said the unsayable! You identified the major portion of the carbon that socialist elites in their self proclaimed wisdom want to reduce together with those nasty conservative knuckle dragging Neanderthals. /s

In reality when tree huggers say they want to save the planet it is for themselves. The unsaid target of their policies and pearl clutching is what they perceive as over population in the third world. Of course, they don’t realize that they might be part of the cull that they are advocating.

    4. Welfare, the scourge that religion foisted on society, and is the driving force behind enabling.
Oh, and I.m 78, was raised in a religious household,, and went to a religious school.

      1. I’m assuming you were repeatedly sodomized, judging by your constant vitriol against “Bible Thumpers.”

      2. No where in the Bible does it call out for handouts for, or forcibly taking from the wealthy to distribute to, the impoverished. Poor people were still expected to put in an effort for what they received. Communists and their useful idiots claiming to be Christians started the welfare trap.

        1. Yes, agreed. In the bible it says to leave behind some of the crop in the fields and vineyards for the poor. The poor still had to go out and collect their share themselves.

We are to “give freely to others”, not “have it forcibly taken for others”.

Yes, they also had the 50th year of “Jubilee” when all debts were forgiven, making things equal again. But, selling me your ancestral plot of land, because you need cash now, in year 2 versus year 48, you’re getting a very different payout for the time it’s in my possession.

  3. Wife has folks in rural Smalltown Ontario…emphasis on the small and rural.
Coming back from a visit she complained about the homeless on the street. Yeah, “street”.
I asked – How is that even possible in a town like that?!? According to relatives they’re bussed in from Toronto a 3 1/2 hour drive.
You see – everyone gets to experience the misery.

    1. Are there social services in the little town? That might be the attraction. When I lived in Keswick, Ontario, we had a lot of homeless in the nearby village of Sutton (both are part of the larger town of Georgina, on the south-east side of Lake Simcoe). Apparently many of them come to Sutton because the local social services are so good — the Sally Ann youth services there are pretty accommodating. Homeless young guy interviewed in the local paper was from St. Catharines and came directly to Sutton — 200 km away — because he heard about how good the services are. No idea how he got there — he could have taken various buses, or someone drove him. Would not surprise me at all if someone were doing recruiting trips and transport.

  4. That is in the worst area of Regina now, there were long term retail outlets beside, this storefront was previously a small time furniture shop, then a pawn shop, and a block away was Brown’s Auctioneers which supplied much of the area… a block away was Lin’s Vietnamese which I didn’t see when looking at Google Streetview but which did a great business for a couple of decades after the Vietnamese people arrived in Canada AND WENT STRAIGHT TO WORK AND DIDN’T SMOKE THE CRACK or today’s fentanyl …
Which, may go some ways to addressing the actual problem here.

Artfull Dodger closed in 2017, the local marxists and those who’ve attended (even briefly!) the University of Regina, the 87th BEST university in Canada, will blame the Sask. conservative gov’t, the local “right wing Mayor” and a lack of provincial funding for homelessness, and those who’ve seen the devastation in other provinces understand completely that it’s a national crisis, not a local one, and if the gov’t were to 2x or 3x funding for these problems, the bandaid would run from tomorrow to next year about this time, when those same people would be in the same fix they’re in now, and the gov’t debt would be even greater.

    and,

    Yesterday’s 24th March Readers Tips:
“Aaron Gunn has released a few extended videos – films showing how the BC Gov’t and Federal Gov’t have allowed the drug abuse scandal to infect the entirety of the BC lower mainland, and spread throughout Canada

His films have been linked to and discussed here at SDA at least a couple of times, and this is the 3rd part of Aaron Gunn’s trilogy… he did want to have this released prior to announcing he will be running in the just started federal election.

    92 minutes snapshot of a post #Librano nation…”

“In the last 2 federal elections, North Island – Powell River has been won by the NDP by 3000 in 2019 and then by 2000 votes in 2021, recent polling is showing Gunn has a good chance, 338Canada polling is showing about a 2% lead for Gunn, ahead of the NDP which has fallen to the 12 seats in all of Canada range.

The NDP MP in the last parliament for this constituency has announced she’s not running, and I don’t know which NDP person is, nor do I know of their pronouns.”

Aaron Gunn’s website and X/Twitter links are there too, “Game On” as he says.
always be linking… ABC, always be commenting.. lol..

  5. Small town Saskatchewan here — had a death here last summer. Guy went to Saskatoon to score some weed from a former associate from his gang days, as I’ve heard. Stopped in the next town over on the way home to drop off some of the weed with a friend. Friend smoked up and collapsed — people with him revived him with a narcan kit. They realised that the weed was tainted, probably with fentanyl, and tried to get ahold of the guy here — but he was already dead. Young woman in town was to have smoked up with the guy that night but God or Sasktel was looking out for her that night — she missed his call inviting her over for a smoke. One death, but could have been three.

You reading this, China? You scored some Opium War revenge points right here last summer. You reading this, Canadian Ruling Class? You scored some points here, too.

    1. Well Lick, as I said to my friend last summer, “I have yet to hear about a OD death of some one who doesn’t do drugs. He was a fire fighter, and is very religious , now retired, he was against safe sights, till his daughter’s 30 YO friend died from an OD.
Then we discussed the Honk Honk protest, and I stated that the gubbermint screwed that up, he disagreed, so on conclusion I stated we would have to agree to disagree. Haven’t heard from him since!

  6. Trudeau’s Legacy: cheap pot and,
“Nice people you have there Canada,
be a shame if they didn’t help me and my friends enrich ourselves. Now drop dead.”

    1. People are their own worst enemy, so don’t blame the corrupt gubbermint, they were voted in by STUPID people.

  7. I’ll add here the Liberal Party policies of Divisiveness,
specifically re-zoning Canadian municipal residential property,
    orchestrated from Ottawa.

We now have multiple neighbors in the market to sell,
who naturally wish to acquire top market dollar
and so will take full advantage of the re-zoning bylaws.

This doesn’t sit well with other neighbors who wish to remain,
but not beside a three story 12-plex with no parking.

The fact that almost all neighbors are Left
provides small satisfaction but does reveal their motto:

“If it aint broke, break it.”

  8. I personally don’t care if people harm themselves, with the exception of friends and/or family, and even then, it ain’t the gov’ts job to “prevent” it.

  9. Heh I drove a cab in Vancouver back when Welfare Wednesday was a thing.
The Lower East Side,Main and Hastings was a war zone then.
Now it is a Zombie Wasteland.
    But follow the money.
Look at all the “Do Gooders” who enriched themselves at the government trough..
    “Helping the Helpless”.
    Just another form of MAID.

    And observe the obvious.
When government says they will fix a problem, that problem is about to become permanent and exponetially more expensive.

The saddest part of deadly addictions.
Is the human waste and misery.
“There for the grace of God, go I”.
For there is no cure,.except from within.

And we cannot even communicate with an intoxicated person.
Short of involuntary detox, after which a discussion of the addict choices can be had..Murder by Government is the next best cure..According to our progressive comrades, that is.
    So in Libtard Speak.
It is against the afflicted ones Human Rights to hold them until drug free and then explain their choices…
But A OK to supply them with the poison of governments choice at tax Payer expense.

And them “Choices”..You are either on side with civil society..Or not.
    And “Or Not” means Banishment.
    Too many Takers.
    Not many Makers.

  10. The one thing that I noticed about in Regina, back in the early 00’s was SK government liquor vendors located directly across the street from the welfare office. The obvious message was, “Here’s your cheque, now go spend it where it’ll do the most good.”

  11. Both my brothers were crack addicts, one went on methedone the other moved so far into the country he had to hunt to come out and and beat his habit. The fact is if one is not ready to get off the junk they won’t, letting the government get involved turned addictions into a for-profit industry.

  12. DAMN, as always….follow the money. THIS has to a damning inditement of Federal Liberals and BC NDP, among others in the dependency and drug (legal) game.

Very good info, investigation, and data, sadly……..too few Canadians will watch, become aware, except those directly affected by the creation of a new addict group, funded by Liberals in Ottawa, and NDP in BC. Loss of lives, and addicts/families sorrow and suffering….all created, funded, and promoted by Government(s).

Sad, truly sad, all I can say.

  13. Government doesn’t solve problems.. It put problems on life support so it can feed off them forever.. In every case right down to doing bad things in the hope that you wont like it.. Then they can feed off of that.. Another problem that the problem created..

It started in the 1960s but it was Obama who rang the dinner bell in 2008.. Hope and Change activated the deep state NGO, MSM alliance.. An all powerful communist political movement that lost its mind when Trump won in 2016.. Then in 2019 in CAHOOTS with the EU they pulled the plug and gifted us Covid 19.. With election altering lockdowns and vaccines that turned out to be a dangerous decoration.. As a reward for that we got autopen dementia Joe.. Then the cherry on top is.. Trumps back anyway to rub our noses in our own :)..
