  11. Trump is still “polite” enough not to bring up Chinese influence in the Canadian political system and attendant corruption. Maybe he will, as he did with Panama. He knows. The little jab about the election is an interesting hint about a broken system and prorogued parliment. He knows that too and he also knows Zustin is using the tariffs as an election issue. Does Trump care enough about Canada to influence its politics? Are foreign influence, drugs, trafficking and a Chinese outpost on the Northern border bad enough to force another reaction? It’s all spin with Trudeau, always has been. Renting an old clapped-out helo for the RCMP and putting a dozen conservation officers on the Manitoba border probably isn’t what Trump had in mind.

      Yes, the US will suffer some short-term hiccups, but unlike Biden’s “transitory inflation” lie, Trump is telling the truth. The pain will be short-term, until the US economy can establish it’s own independent supply line contained within the country.
      When that happens, the rest of the world, including Canada, will find that they’ve run out of bullets.

  29. I support what Trump is attempting to do in the US .. taking control of an out of control bureaucracy , but with regard to International finance and power he is merely replicating the same old US dominance theme of the past.

    Currently the US represents roughly 4% of the 8 billion world population , and has roughly 30% of the world population under sanctions , political , financial and military. It is a declining power but Trump still thinks he can impose through finance or to a lesser degree via military now that the US proxy war in Ukraine is lost. Trump appears to be listening to some of his financial team who have suggested the US could remove income tax by relying on tariffs … so far he has added tariffs to Canada , Europe , Mexico , China , Venezuela in a futile attempt to bring industry back to the US. Manufacturing industry left the US some time ago and is not returning. The new manufacturing super power is China … not the US and there is nothing Trump or anyone in the US can do about it short of a nuclear war which would destroy us all.
