Re pension and security cost is a good question. I’m agreeable to USSS for a former president until the first midterm election and then that’s it but nothing for spouse after last day in office. No taxpayer funded security for cabinet officers or SCOTUS either.
No elected office should have a pension. Let’em open an IRA just like the great unwashed. All fed employees should pay into Social Security. They can open IRAs, too.
