Well, Rats!

Politico;

“Everyone I’ve talked to, mostly lawyers, are losing their minds,” said one DOJ attorney, who like most of the people interviewed for this article was granted anonymity to speak freely about colleagues and avoid retribution from the president-elect and his allies. “The fear is that career leadership and career employees everywhere are either going to leave or they’re going to be driven out.”

While alarm over Trump’s return is widespread throughout the federal bureaucracy, it is perhaps most acute at the Justice Department, which was at the center of many of the major controversies of his first term.

Most of the department’s 115,000 employees were around for those controversies. Critics believed the Trump White House meddled in some of the department’s high-profile prosecutions. Both of Trump’s attorneys general, Jeff Sessions and William Barr, eventually lost the president’s confidence. And his first term ended with a stunning showdown between Trump and nearly all of his DOJ appointees as they resisted his attempts to cling to power.

But department veterans say those events pale in comparison to what they expect when Trump gets a second chance to try to remake the DOJ in his vision. They also know Trump’s anger at the department has only deepened in the past four years as it launched two unprecedented criminal prosecutions against him.

  1. Good if most quit, as it was/is the center of the corrupt campaign to get Trump legal maneuvering. Along with the IC/FBI/CIA. It would give Trump a clean slate to start out with.

  2. This article makes me so happy. Liberal tears – especially deep state DOJ lawyer ones – are the best liberal tears.

    1. I hope Lieberal tears don’t have cholesterol in them. If so, I’m doomed from lapping them up… 😉

  3. Day 1: Fire them all. Fire, fire, fire and more firings. Keep firing them all until you get to the janitors that sweep the floor, then fire them too. I wanna see Trump lose his voice with all the ‘You’re Fired’ firings!

    Day 2: Jail them all.

    1. …and while you’re at it, take care of the FBI, the CIA, the IRS, and all the other 3-letter agencies working for the “administrative state” instead of for the people.

      Fire them all.

As much as I would like to see that happen, I don’t think Trump will go that far. That would make him out to be exactly what the lie-beral media portrayed him as. A dictator seeking retribution.

Trump has a unity agenda, and this doesn’t fit that agenda, so I doubt if these firings will ever happen. There will be a good house-cleaning, no doubt, but mass firings? I don’t think so, but then, I underestimated Trump’s resolve to build the wall, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Remember… he hasn’t taken the oath of office yet.

  4. Hallelujah! My vote against the “deep state” counts. Per that old adage “don’t let the screen door hit you on your way out.”

    1. DOJ is a good start but the State Dept hires since Bush need to be running for the exits, Foggy Bottom swept clean. We need 21st century Trump foreign policy not the 100 yr old foreign policy of Woody Wilson revamped 80 yrs ago by George Marshall. Show Victoria Nuland’s cronies the door.

    2. Mine too!

Both of Trump’s attorneys general, Jeff Sessions and William Barr, eventually lost the president’s confidence. And his first term ended with a stunning showdown between Trump and nearly all of his DOJ appointees as they resisted his attempts to cling to power.

Behold the leftist media narrative being shaped and repeated. Demands for honest, transparent, LEGAL, and FAIR elections … are defined as an attempt to cling to power … like Hitler. Good GOD … I cannot hate the media enough

  5. “…depend on a government supported by a merit-based, apolitical civil service,” said Stacey Young, a trial attorney in the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division who won an award from Barr in 2020 and is president and co-founder of the DOJ Gender Equality Network.”

Thanks for the laugh Stacey and looks like you’ll be one of the first to go.

    1. Yes, she’s right, they need to make way for a merit-based, apolitical civil service.

Good luck in the next phase of your career, Stacey, in private practice.

  6. “Everyone I’ve talked to, mostly lawyers, are losing their minds,” …
No, those were gone years ago, along with their ethical standards and character.

Meanwhile, back in New York, the lesson that citizens must always comply with any kind of abuse from anyone is being driven home hard. Not tolerating physical abuse from criminals is … wait for it … Racist. And a white man protecting women of several races? Double Racist.

  7. Said Purge shall be BEAUTIFUL to see and watch.
But it seems there is still some Vile action coming in: The Senate
…something about a Senate Majority Leadership position vote..??
    Unscheduled
    Unethical
    …typical Dem thing

It’s almost like they are actually INVITING Trump to go full on Fascist…

    1. Yep.
Show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.

If Trump is going to take the bait, he’d better be careful on how he goes about doing it.

  8. Damn right they should be fearful. Their perverted persecution of a President is reprehensible.

  9. Blacklisting them the same way they blacklisted anyone who was associated with Trump in his first term must happen, your inside the beltway law firm hires one of these lawyers? No contract for you!

Personal destruction is the modus operandi of the Liberal racists – the same methods need to be used on these wealthy ideologues – destroy them financially. McDonald’s is hiring…

    1. And working at McDonalds can lead to great things. You could perhaps even become Vice-President of the U.S.A.

  10. If Trump has a lick of sense he will fire -all- the long-term careerists in the federal government, and replace them with nothing. Dismantle the machine and defund it so it can’t be built back. That’s about his only defense, long term.

Otherwise these goblins will come for his family.

    1. Liberals insist there will be plenty of jobs open in agriculture, once deportation gets underway. “The crops will be rotting in the fields.” The image of Venezuelan gang members OR DOJ lawyers picking cabbages is pure comedy.

  11. Somehow it’s doubtful the DOJ is done yet. Leaks from the military, leaks from the SCOTUS, and probably leaks from the DOJ.
What’s happening with all those other investigations? They were independant from Trump election issues. The swamp is very deep and the Republicans have only fours years, maybe only two , to make lasting changes.

    1. Nope; if Team Trump remains popular, and the Dems have nothing to offer, Vance would be around, hopefully, for another 8 years. He doesn’t have the uh, rough edges of Trump.

      1. BINGO Dan …. I watched a mess of Vance interviews and he is great whether in a friendly interview or under fire and I think he will only improve with experience and will be ready to step in Trump’s boots.
Hopefully a long run of sanity in the US government with the Woke Greentards of the Democrat party flipping burgers or running the fryer with Commie-la.

        1. “BINGO Dan …. I watched a mess of Vance interviews and he is great whether in a friendly interview or under fire and I think he will only improve with experience and will be ready to step in Trump’s boots.”

He is great. I was at first disappointed that he didn’t utterly destroy Tim Walz on national TV when he very clearly could have done so (with frightening ease, too). Then later I realized that he held back deliberately so as not to appear to be too much of a bully (and probably not alienate too many women). I still did enjoy watching him dismantling CNN/NBC/MSNBC ‘journalists’, though….give us more of that.

          1. Fred and Stewart; My impression is that women really like him. The ‘Officer and a Gentleman’ training really shines through, eh? Vets and serving members finally have someone who walked a mile in their boots.
Since he’s no political threat to DJT, I can only hope that he lets Vance have as much exposure as he can handle.

  12. Looks good on them. Let them know that fear, of the state going after them, raiding them, bankrupting them, humiliating them, incarcerating them. Flynn. Stone. Bannon, the J6 political prisoners. Let them fell their pain.

Innocent until proven guilty, not the reverse, nobody is above the law, dozens of indictments, and all that jazz.
No sympathy for any of them from this corner, who has felt the heel of the correct state, albeit in minor ways.
My only hope is Trump cleans up the swamp and swillers of that collectivist cesspool that is the Obama legacy.

  13. with these prolonged stories, l wish to blazes there was some sort of ‘tracking thru time’ of who said and do waht, linking that fact to previous and subsequent words and actions, point out the contradictions, suspected and proven lies, proven truths, etc.

    ya l know, impossible task.

  14. Criminals always fear justice. Considering these bureaucratic criminals are the worst kind of criminals than its easy to understand why they are so fearful.
Firing should be the least of their worries.

  15. A Constitutional Republic will be the undoing of the “Democracy” farce that has been drummed into the Western world for decades.

The Lawfare has made the new rules for the plebes to dance to, and we have watched how the DS has used those laws to humiliate and subjugate us, “vaccinate” us, lock us up with no trials for just being in the right place at the wrong time (J6), etc.

It is humorous to read how fearful the DOJ peeps recite the famous line of “just following orders, Sir” when confronted with the evil they have perpetrated on their “enemies”.

Justice needs to be swift, thorough and relentless until the rot and puss is removed.

  16. Tyrants always believe they’ll continue to be in power.
It’s essential to the “at any cost” mindset.

  17. wait until the election in 2 years with voter ID and paper ballots ……. I predict 80-20 for MAGA
