2022 U.S. Open Men’s Final

Since Kate frequently adds posts about horse racing, I hope she won’t mind me mentioning that today at 1pm PDT / 4pm EDT the U.S. Open Men’s Final is happening. It features 19 year old phenom, Carlos Alcarez, from Spain, vs. Casper Ruud from Norway.

Here are the highlights of Alcarez’s Friday match victory:

  1. The kid is a phenomenal player already. Athletic and mixes up his shots. Nice kid too. Ruud is also making history as a Norwegian player. Hope it’s competitive.

  2. Banned the unvaxxed and the Russians, and still have the audacity to call themselves a real sport.
They, like the rest, are nothing more than sportsball distractions for the masses, approved by Pfizer and the like.
    FO.

    1. US Open surprisingly didnt ban Russians but of course the unvaxed ban was continued. Moderna being a sponsor may have had a say?

  3. It is kind of a lark. Novak Djokovic would likely be one of the finalists. He’s a great player, a good guy, and someone who stuck to his principles by refusing to get the “vaccination.” He’d likely still be ranked #1 in the world had he not been banned from the Australian open. Players on his level peak at the Grand Slams, and missing one can screw up training significantly (which likely resulted in his departure at the French Open in the quarters). As it is, he’s now lower in the overall rankings than he was back in 2018.

Incidentally, Djokovic has a house down in Florida. I don’t think that was an accident.

  4. The teenager won it. Phenomenal. When he slows down he can change his gender pronouns and beat the girls for a while. Just kidding.

    1. John McEnroe said today this young Spaniard may be the quickest he’s ever seen and Johnny’s seen and played against all the best. And has a tennis IQ beyond his years. USOpen champ AND rises to number one in the world at nineteen years old. Changing of the guard.
