Embrace Hollywood!

Jonathan Pageau:I went to see Spielberg’s Disclosure Day and found myself watching a strange, late-stage piece of boomer propaganda about aliens, media, religion, and who we are supposed to trust. Here are my thoughts on the symbolism of the film. (Spoiler alert.)

  1. LOL it’s a Spielberg movie, OF COURSE it’s propaganda. FFS I could tell you this after just hearing the title and the name of the director!

  2. On these “alien visit” movies I can never get past the fact that they don’t all die of Ebola or Spanish Flu or even the Common Cold within a week of their arrival. And, the same people who insist that Columbus killed all the native Americans by transferring Smallpox not even halfway across the SAME planet, never stop to think how things would go for a species that has absolutely no historical presence on the planet.

It turns all these provocative movie ideas into nonsense by that omission.

    1. Good point, and the counter argument is that the all benevolent aliens would sterilize themselves or engage in non-interfering contact like Star Trek operatives did. Yeah, it is weak.

  3. 1st – Kate … you’ve done it again. You’ve introduced me to another GREAT Canadian mind (like Gad Saad … more on that later) in Johnathan Pageau. Just from this review, I can tell he has a complex mind that puts complex puzzle pieces into a clear picture.

2nd – Ich bin ein Boomer … and I am sad to say that the newsreel of my life has been filmed by Hollywood … starting with my youngest years in a dysfunctional family in such films as Stand by Me … to High School in Fast Times and Dazed and Confused. Then onto An Unmarried Woman, Fatherhood, Wall Street … a chronology of Boomers lives and times have been filmed and foisted on all the other generations. And now … Spielberg has filmed his DYING movie. Oh well … I’m in my 71st year … so … the lights are growing dim. And you’re either decomposing in the ground … or you can claim Christ’s victory … or if you’re a self-hating Jew, self-hating American, and Christian-hating schlump like Spielberg … you put your faith in Aliens … and Empathy.

3rd – So the theme is … empathy? Really? Just as we have learned that empathy can become suicidal? Is Spielberg desperately trying to film a counterpoint to Gad Saad? Pathetic. The greatest of these is LOVE. I find it instructional that Spielberg’s END theme isn’t LOVE. Because there can be “tough Love” … such as the LOVE that gets drug addicts into recovery … and doesn’t ’empathetically’ hand them free drugs and needles. And if he chose LOVE as the Alien life lesson … he’d have to acknowledge Biblical Love … Greek Love … which is anything BUT “love is love”.

  4. I have posted here before that the single most frightening movie of my youth was … Invaders from mars

One night, young David McLean sees a spaceship crash into a nearby sandpit. His father goes to investigate, but comes back changed. Where once he was cheerful and affectionate, he’s now sullen and snarlingly rude. Others fall into the sandpit and begin acting like him: cold, ill-tempered and conspiratorial. David knows that aliens are taking over the bodies of humans, but he’ll soon discover there have been far more of these terrible thefts than he could have imagined. The young doom-monger finds some serious help in a lady doctor and a brilliant astronomer. Soon they meet the aliens: green creatures with insect-like eyes. These beings prove to be slaves to their leader: a large, silent head with ceaselessly shifting eyes and two tentacles on either side, each of which branches off into three smaller tentacles. It’s up to the redoubtable earth trio to stop its evil plans.—J. Spurlin

The single most frightening scene was when humans were dragged into the sandpit and into the underground alien spaceships where they were placed on a table … and a giant long needle was drilled into their foreheads. As a result … the humans were made into alien zombie slaves. It appears as though Spielberg has co-opted this 1953 SCARY Alien Film and transmorphed the hostile aliens into benevolent spirit guides.

It sounds as if this film is exposing the malignant thoughts in Spielberg’s head. He is putting his innermost thoughts on full -unwell- display. Let’s all just have empathy … like the Star Trek empath episode.

I’m just curious … did Spielberg have this film written by AI? Because it sure sounds like it

  5. after decades of contemplating the question, from every angle and 25 dimensions (just kidding)
trying to assess plausibility, piecing together multiple factors, recalling so-called alien encounters, allow me to share my conclusions.
has ANY broadly recognized and broadly accepted artifacts of ANY sort been produced that seriously point to very complex powerful technology?
like a cleart plastic battery of unlimited duration like l remember in an old TV show?
an impenetrable chunk of some alloy made of heretofor unknown metals?
a bonafide live alien showing up at an airport or military base or remote island or etc?
    no.
is the government packed with liars?
    yes
do we know a great deal about the limitations imposed by nature like ‘travelling back in time’?
(oh thats a good one, it necessitates gigantic displacements in distance as well, and requires the entire universe comply with the time traveller. not.
does it appear, both from mathematical calculations and experimentally, its pretty much
IMPOSSIBLE to breach the speed of light
    yep.
are the distances shown us by the likes of Wilson, Hubble and now JWST truly incomprehensibly staggeringly far?
    oh ya.
as such if sentient mobile technically advanced life forms exist, even right now, it is absurdly impossible for them to communicate and sure as shyt likewise *go* from wherever they *are* to where we *are*?
    bingo.
ergo despite all the hoopla, all the claims, all the various mysterious sighting during Apollo and other manned space ventures and incidents, we have NOT been ‘visited’ by aliens from faraway planets.
if anything, somehow they be remnants of some life form 50,000,000 years ago ON EARTH. ie post gulf of mexico asteroid. and who choose to remain secret but on occasion get spotted going hither and thither.

but, from another part of the milky way? from Andromeda? from the other side of the great void?
    mmmm . . . NAH

    1. Let me add that the notion we somehow only advanced so quickly as an industrial and technological civilization because we reverse engineered Alien spacecraft … is laughable on so many levels as to be absurd. Is this the actual level of Spielberg’s intellect? Our progress has been nothing, if not linear. There were no incomprehensible leaps of technology. Spielberg is a seriously demented multi-multi-millionaire moron.

PS … the entire UFO info-drop is soooooooo Jeffrey Epstein nonsensical. A bunch of hooey backed with kernels of truth … but lacking any substance whatsoever. I mean … If you can’t release a LEGIT. Alien autopsy tissue sample … if you can’t flop a piece of an alien ship unknown alloy on the table … then just STOP with all the fuzzy, out of focus IR imagery. I see the same artifacts out of my living room window in the early morning sunlight. Those half dead flies move faster than anything human.

  6. I remember seeing a movie where the aliens were a bunch of retard bros that were drunk and crashed into earth. The scientists were telling the President they were playing chess already. Meanwhile in the background one of the alien was throwing chess pieces and the other was batting them across the room with the chess board.

Alien tech could probably not be copied but some principles learned. You end up with a transistor for example

  7. It seems some of the commenters here have been visited by the Men in Black.
