  1. In my personal top 5 greatest psychedelic tunes of all time. Little known fact … the Byrds record company, Columbia, recorded most Byrds songs using The Wrecking Crew (LA) session band … with ONE exception … Roger McGuinn. Yeah, the ONE musician in The Byrds that could not be replaced with better studio musicians was McGuinn and his 12 string Rickenbacker. And his insane, psychedelic fingerpicking … insane!! Chris Hillman was a good bass player … but sadly for Chris … Carol Kaye was simply phenomenal.

Why David Crosby got so much camera time is beyond me. An average rhythm guitar player and average singer at best.

And I recall it was Carol Kaye who wrote the very cool slide bass line on Mr. Tambourine Man

    1. Crosby got so much camera time because he was a loud and proud commie. The press loved him for it.

  2. The Byrds had numerous lineup changes. McGuinn was the only constant.
The video that Robert posted has Skip Battin on bass.
Hillman had departed for the Burrito Brothers, I think.
Oh, and McGuinn and Hillman tossed Crosby because he was obnoxious.
    Just some trivia.
