  3. Weinstein is a not hitting the center of the target, but he’s on the board. Trump isn’t overly intelligent in an academic sort of way. He understands something that most of his opponents do not. And, when they finally comprehend, it’s usually after the fact. It’s all about leverage with Trump. He’s a negotiator, and he rarely (if ever) starts a negotiation without first having a number of game pieces on the board. He understands domino theory and repercussions. While everyone focuses on a specific event, they’re missing it’s true purpose and how it was initiated for multiple reasons (some clear across the globe).

    Here’s a perfect example:

    He played around with Venezuela for a time. Blowing up drug runners. Throwing out some jagged comments. Misdirecting constantly with warnings and hyperbole. THEN, out of the blue he sends in Delta Force to pick up Nicholas Maduro. That’s the act.

    Here are the repercussions:
    1. Iran loses its primary customer for their refinery services in a country already suffering from a lack of revenue, VERY high inflation, and decaying infrastructure.

    2. Cuba loses it’s primary supplier of necessary energy products in another country suffering from piss poor infrastructure.

    3. China feels the down stream pain as Iran is no longer in a position to provide refined oil products that both countries depend on to circumvent Iran’s sanctions.

    4. Russia has a brand new security and energy agreement nullified overnight that held some leases on energy products with 30 year leases. (this will come into play when the Russia / Ukraine negotiations heat up)

    5. Last week the press got a hold of a story suggesting that Ukraine was taking aid money provided by the Biden administration to turn back to the US to assist the democrats on campaign donations. ($10 says Trump OK’d the release of that story to give him leverage on Zelenskyy on the Russia/ Ukraine negotiation).

    All of this stems from grabbing Maduro. All of it became leverage.

    NOW, consider that this was one of the first times that Trump didn’t give Congress a heads up that he was going to pick up Maduro, and there were pissed about that. It’s because it left the Deepstate blind to what he was up to, and how it would effect all their little worldwide projects in one fell swoop.

    That’s textbook Trump. Not super intelligent. But, he understand how the game is played.

    4. Orson, very interesting post. However, I want to challenge you on your assertion that Trump is not super intelligent. Probably my biggest complaint about most politicians and government bureaucrats is that they don’t seem to understand anything about human nature and what incentivizes/disincentivizes people. They continually introduce programs that don’t account on bad actors cheating these programs – look at California & Minnesota. Or look the gun buyback program in Canada.

      Many on the Left would say that anyone with a Masters degree or Ph.D. is intelligent. I personally know wayyyyyyy too many who are not.

      Perhaps you & I have a completely different definition of “intelligence”?

    5. Orson, I agree with much of your commentary, and would only add that The President may have not told Congress as there are a few of them who would have given the heads up to Maduro.
      I think very intelligent and street smarts trumps simply genius any day.

    6. Why on earth would President Trump give a “heads up” to Congress when they have repeatedly proven to be major “blabbermouths”.
      I am also proud of King Charles III for declining to issue an invitation to whining Prince Harry about a summer vacation for Prince Harry’s family at Sandringham. Prince Harry only wants the invitation to beg for money, and go whining to the press for attention. And anyway, everyone knows the royal family vacations at Balmoral in August.

      1. I agree! I paid attention in Grade 5/6 Science class when we were taught plant biology. All plants (especially trees) require CO2 during the day and expel Oxygen at night. Humans are the reverse, we breathe in Oxygen and breathe out CO2. As a gardener, I applaud CO2!

      QED: 400 million years ago the planet had around 7000ppm atmospheric CO2 concentration. According to the warmists, we should have burned up in some Faustian version of hell at that point. Recall the screeching, rending of hair & gnashing of teeth when the planet hit 400ppm a couple years back?

      Not only are we here today to talk about it, but in the midst of said period of peak atmospheric CO2 concentration, there was a planet-wide ice age. Ask yer local warmist to square that circle.

      When the pricks start acting like there’s an emergency, then there’s an emergency. Until then, carry on.

    The above link shows a Google search for the three words: NDP equity cards. It shows that only the conservative media, a media quite small in Canada, covered this story of visible minority delegates holding preferential “equity cards” while lining up to ask questions to NDP higher ups. PostMedia outlets carried it, as well as smaller conservative media (e.g., Rebel News, Juno news). The story was then picked up by right-leaning news blogs, then to social media.

    One would think this story would make for good copy. But virtually all establishment media in our country, as the above link shows, censored the story. The story was ceneored entirely by our broadcast media cartel. This is important, I think, about how corrupt our establishment journalism has become.
    I got the equity-card censorship idea while watching a lengthy panel discussion on YouTube called “Are government subsidies hurting Canadian journalism?”. One may want to check this discussion out.

    One more point: I have long worried about the small size of Canadian grassroots organizations in Canada, since the 1980s. We have come a long way since then to be sure. The conservative media has come a long way. But i encourage people to support the small conservative media, and to boycott the corporate media. Pulling the cable TV cable is a start.

  12. I don’t know if you run across the argument “but Alberta is landlocked.” A quick google search reveals the following:
    There are 44 countries in the world that are landlocked. Some of them, like those in Africa or the former Soviet Union, face challenges that we in Alberta do not. But among more developed countries that are landlocked, we have:
    Austria
    Serbia
    Bolivia,
    Paraguay.
    Belarus
    Moldova
    Hungary
    Czech Republic
    Switzerland (who have the most valuable currency in the world.)
    Those countries are not whining….seem to be doing ok.
    You probably already knew this, but I just thought I would pass it on.

          As far as “customs, duties or taxes on traffic” are concerned, wouldn’t take much to set up a vehicle inspection station at each border that would take hours to process a vehicle, along w/ a hefty fine for any infraction.

          There’s ways to do this. Just become an asshole like the Feds.

  21. Nice to hear that Eric Weinstein’s opinion of #TheDonald parallels my own.

    When you add the recent revelations regarding US-AID, Minnesota day-cares and Learing Centers, California hospices, million dollar hammers in the US military supply chain, everything #TheDonald is doing forms a compelling narrative.

    Boils down to an undeclared war with the Chinese Communist Party, paid for by… America! #TheDonald just stopped paying. That might be enough to put a wench in the gears and ruin the whole machine.

    And really, why does anyone think #Donnie is stupid? Because we were all told to think that. Personally, I remember being told to think that. I didn’t like #Donnie at the time but I did think it was a bit much to assume he was stupid. Multi-billionaire? The guy -can’t- be stupid. It’s impossible.
