An RCMP-led corruption investigation is underway and search warrants were executed on a number of properties including the homes of former mayor Jyoti Gondek, former councillor Sean Chu and sitting councillor Andre Chabot.
Details on the situation come from multiple sources with knowledge of the investigation. CBC News has agreed to protect their identities because they are not authorized to comment publicly.
According to those sources, several search warrants and production orders were executed last week including one on a local business.
In the course of those warrants, former mayor Jyoti Gondek’s home was searched and her cell phone was seized.
Outstanding.

The commies on council and city bureaucracy have been trying to fabricate “evidence” against Sean Chu for quite some time. I was surprised Gone-dyke (okay no surprise here) and Chabot (who is a councillor in the same class as Chu) also got pulled in. The hyphenated first named former councillor from my Ward should really be the one investigated with his drug den off of 17 Ave SE.

Will be very interesting to see what this is about regarding Gondek. If it is in any way connected to some back door agreement to push through the idiotic City wide rezoning, the fallout will be absolutely ENORMOUS. Thermonuclear, actually.

Listening to the radio on the travels through the city, they would talk all day about Chabot being investigated.
Not one mention of certain Chu who was an alderman in previous term or the former mayoress Gondek.
Wednesday’s The Calgary Herald wrote about the unknown scheme Chabot and Chu being investigated, not one mention of Gondek.
The teevee news is reporting all of it now, Gondek being mentioned of pure necessity and as little as possible.
