On a recent trip to Golf Town I noticed that new clubs are now locked in place so you have to get a clerk to get one out for you to examine. How long will it be before grocery stores are doing the same thing for steaks and roasts?
Police in Richmond, B.C., are investigating after a series of meat thefts from retail stores that they say may be “organized” crime.
RCMP say that there have been 39 cases of reported theft of meat from stores across the city since December.
For some peculiar reason, butter appears to be a more attractive target for crooks in Ontario.

His parents gave him whatever he wanted and he didn’t need to work while attending school, yet him and his equally affluent college friends ran an organized meat stealing and reselling ring in an Alberta College Town

I have a plan to catch these guys. First, they stole all that butter last year…and likely tossed it in the freezer. Now, they’ve moved onto the meat. BUT, that’s a mistake. Meat is more perishable and that sets the clock. They’re now under the gun.
SO, we stake out the Rosemary and garlic sections of the supermarket and just wait for them to drop into our hands. They’re toast!!!!

There is likely a ring of criminals dedicated to returning Beyond Meat products to the stores.

Just witnessed a 8% price increase across the board in one store this week. But inflation is only 7% so they say.
Other than shutting down our economic engine in 2020 we also decided it would be unfair to prosecute BIPOC people for stealing stuff. Thinking this has a larger effect on inflation than the President.

Meat theft is not new, though probably more profitable now. Back in the 70’s in my PI days meat theft stake outs were common including at the meat plant. Several interesting arrests during that time.
