Funny it’s a French guy in Montreal complaining about an Ontario plate. In Ontario you need a CVOR (commercial vehicle operator’s registration) … unless you’re out of province (e.g., Quebec). In Quebec you don’t need one.

In 1994, a tragedy on a Milwaukee area highway resulted in the deaths of multiple children riding in a minivan. The van’s fuel tank exploded after striking a semi’s tail light that had fallen onto the road. Ensuing investigation led to former IL Governor George Ryan’s tenure as IL Secretary of State. Ultimately, Ryan was convicted in a “license for bribes” scheme because the trucker in question carried an IL CDL but could not speak English. Ryan was prosecuted on federal charges with a morally outraged local media fanning the flames. No doubt Ryan was guilty but then he was a Republican. Meanwhile IL Democrat Secretaries of State face no scrutiny for issuing DLs/CDLs to illegals. Traffic reports in the greater Chicago area include nearly daily reports of overturned or jack-knifed semis on tollways and expressways or semis striking bridge supports…2 bridge supports struck by semis on March 6. There is no statewide crackdown on illegals with CDLs in any blue state. 2 tier justice for Democrats and their illegal army.
The government needs to go after more than Just the drivers and individual rigs. The businesses that hire these drivers need to be fined into bankruptcy. The driving schools and driving testing facilities that train and license the drivers need the same treatment.
The trucking industry is not effectively self regulating and self policing in any way. All driver training and testing should be done by government officials and be conducted in English or French only. All semi trucks and trailers need to be inspected far more frequently. Road safety should be the primary concern. The second priority needs to be more inspection of cargo for drugs, firearms and other illegal activities.

I guess I’m saying that’s what *should* be done. I do realize that Canadian politicians and bureaucrats are too corrupt and incompetent to do the right thing.
Exactly! Who owns that trailer and load? That business should be fined heavily for failing to transfer that load to a proper, undamaged trailer … and getting that junk heap off OUR roads.
Oh! You say the owner of the trailer doesn’t even know of the damage, because the driver didn’t report it? Sorry. You hired the lying, hiding, cretin … who is willing to endanger EVERYONE on our roads. You BOTH need to be held accountable for the rolling accident waiting to happen. Yes, BOTH should be fined, licenses revoked, etc. retroactively based on this video alone.
As an aside … I just sold the dump trailer I bought for my remodel project (best idea I’ve ever had … saved me many $thousands). I bought the trailer because it had a sturdy built-in geotextile cover that rolls over the load. If I ever … ever … drove that trailer with an uncovered load … I’d have been pulled over by the CHP before I made it to the dump. What’s wrong with the Canadian police? Don’t they have a DUTY to keep the roads safe?
It’s an odd situation in the trucking industry. In most industries, the employers are held responsible for the conduct of the employees – work safety, environmental regulations, financial compliance, fraud etc. The company gets fined or charged when their employees disregard the regulations and procedures. This standard seems to be entirely absent in the trucking industry.
The truck driver is a self-employed contractor.

Kenji. Please. You’d be pulled over by CHP because you’re WHITE. Even in Arizona they don’t bother pulling over the Mexicans because Mexicans never pay fines. White guys pay fines.

You think there’s really a company attached to that truck? That’s a bottomless rabbit hole of corruption, is what that is. Nobody is going to pay a fine.
I can`t tell, being in Quebec did that trailer hit the infrastructure or did the infrastructure hit the trailer?
