The Libranos: Ministries Of Truth

David Clinton;

According to the National Post, Federal Justice Minister Sean Fraser recently rejected Alberta’s request for input into the selection of judges – including Supreme Court justices – explaining: “We need to rigorously adhere to the boundaries of the Constitution, including the need to protect the independence of the judiciary.”

Now it’s well known that the Province of Quebec already has significantly greater powers than Alberta is looking for. So it would seem obvious that the minister intentionally employed a false justification for his government’s policy.

Put plainly, seeing that upset me. But it also made me wonder how often our government uses disinformation when talking to us.

Well first of all, how often do they try to tell us stuff? An awful lot, it turns out. Through just 2025, Global Affairs Canada – for example – issued 411 information releases through their canada.ca page. Multiply that by the more than 100 departments and agencies that enjoy communicating in one way or another, and it’s clear that government produces a steady torrent of communications.

How many federal public sector workers are involved in the government’s messaging-industrial complex? Searching on the Government Electronic Directory Services (GEDS) page shows us that there are 1,660 individuals across government whose job descriptions include the word “communications”. Of those, 770 are Communications Advisors and 117 are Communications Assistants.

There are an additional 336 positions identified by terms like “engagement” (106), “marketing” (43), or “outreach” (58). That’s around 2,000 full-time positions that are officially advertised as messaging-related. But I’m sure there are countless more who are expected to devote only partial focus to communicating and others whose job titles aren’t caught by my simple search.

And that doesn’t include their paid shills in media.

  1. “We need to rigorously adhere to the boundaries of the Constitution….”

And when don’t, as in our invocation of The Emergencies Act, it’s no big deal.

  2. Fat trudeau must have went to the federal BULLSHIT learning seminar.
And the provincial gobbermint radio adds are use of tax dollars to champagne for Fat TurD’Ho.

  3. ” the minister intentionally employed a false justification for his government’s policy”

Yeah. That Liberal lying is recognized as such and just fuels the fires of independence.
The gaslighting works for the dummies that vote Liberal, I guess.

    1. Ooz
“The gaslighting works for the dummies that vote Liberal, I guess.”
      And for the bible pounders!

      1. Now say an unkind word about Koran pounders.

        I dare you.

Go on, you’re so brave about insulting Christians, let’s see if you’re up for fair play to other devoted religionists.

As there is very little difference between the 3 Abrahamic religions, do you want to articulate yer point?
I am against all religions, and religious like orgs, including extreme atheism. But it’s the bible wankers that surface in here, not the rest, so why point to their hypocrisy.

    1. None of those wishes are possible within confederation unless we’re talking about Quebec. Smith is clouding the independence referendum with garbage to weaken the separatist vote and giving the feds an out through the clarity act.

  4. Since Quebec gets away with stuff by claiming that they never signed onto the constitution so they aren’t bound to it, Alberta could always withdraw its support for the constitution and claim that they aren’t bound by it either. What’s good for one must be good for all. It’s time to dissolve the federal government. No one in Canada needs it.

  5. One of the benefits of independence would be the opportunity to clean up the legal system. All of it – the appointment process, race based sentencing, delays in timely court cases, lenient sentences for violent crimes, lenient parole guidelines and, I suspect, direct political interfence in police investigations, prosecutions and with judges.

The Canadian legal system is completely rotten. Put in a system where people are truly equal in the eyes of the law and the legal system prioritizes public safety instead of the rights of repeat, violent criminals or politically important voter blocs.

    1. this is not a legal system its a legal industry. It has nothing in common with Justice.

      1. It’s like the legal system was designed by criminals for criminals. Due process is essential but Canada has gone way, way beyond that standard. No tweaks will fix it, it needs a complete teardown and reconstruction.

        1. The best way to create a better system might be to allow provinces take over the responsibility. Various governments experimenting on reforms could improve the system much more quickly. Ditto for healthcare act changes, immigration, natural resource permitting, etc.

  6. The politicians have completely taken over the power of the people, if the people had any power ever.
As mentioned a number of times, the parliamentary system, at least in this country, is a dicktatorship (sic) for the duration of the governing party. They can, in really practical terms, dicktate (sic) what ever they want and there is not a damn thing anybody else can do about it, viz the convoy protest.
The opposition is only a degree or two different and in real terms impotent.
The low life political scum come to understand that and are getting bolder and bolder in their dicktat (sic).
The population has no say in it in any way what so ever, except of course for the enrichers of the society.

    1. You mean the bureaucrats. The unelected and unaccountable people are the ones running the show. The politicians, Lieberal or otherwise, are just mouth pieces for the bureaucrats.

  7. And as for the Food Professor, perhaps he is misinformed or omitted to mention it.
The opposition has in the past said that it will stop the money to the mass media cartel, with exception of french state radio in Quebec. As of late, as the rulers decided and the mass media cartel happily accepted, there is more and more money sprinkled on them, courtesy of the rulers. The opposition is not opposed to that.
So the plebeians are dicktated (sic) to pay for the obfuscations, omissions, false interpretations and the lies of the mass media cartel.
Unfortunately that is the state of affairs in this country and there is not a damn thing that anybody is willing or can do anything about it.

  8. Btw back when SNC Lavalin/JWR scandal was #1, PM Blackie promised a complete and total separation between these 2 jobs: Justice Minister and Attorney General. I bet that nothing was done re this issue.

  9. Thank you David Clinton.

Also, Canada is effectively a One Party State:
… ‘civil servants’ have been turned into ‘Liberal Party of Canada servants’
… when a Conservative Party forms government, all bureaucrats continue to serve the Liberal Party of Canada
… “everything they consider disinformation” applies only if it hurts the Liberal Party of Canada
… to any and all Liberal politicians and their voters, the Liberal Party of Canada is the most important institution.

This is how they discourage the Right from even showing up to vote.

    1. Good to know I’m not the only one that sees the civil service as card carrying Lieberal party members. Especially the mid to senior levels.

  10. Civil servants are not learning how to write. Rather they are learning how to insert talking points in a readable manner.

  11. The LieBrano’s & the Bureaucracy have been working on this since 1964 under the LieBrano PM Person. The Senior & Middle Manager’s led the way, CBC was the first Media to back all the lies the LieBrano’s put out there. +-60 years. LieBrano’s 42 years, Conservative’s 18 years.
