    1. That’s a low, low bar to clear. Pope Francis was not inclined to see the United States as doing God’s work and neither is Pope Leo.

      Just in general, the Church of Rome has never been a fan of even Christianity, never mind freedom. It’s the state cult of the Roman Empire with Christian window dressing, whose establishment in post-Roman western Europe led to the effective suppression of actual Christianity there till the Reformation.

      Meanwhile, in El Salvador, for the corruption of the Church of Rome and its eagerness to make common cause with Marxists during the civil war and with the gangs today have contributed to Salvadorans abandoning the CoR for “evangelical” (real Christian) churches.

      Recent popes haven’t preached against the US, but Oscar Romero, Archbishop of San Salvador, openly preached against the pro-US government of the time, giving aid, comfort and a veneer of supposedly divine approval to the communist rebels that were trying to violently overthrow the government chosen by the sovereign Salvadoran people and replace it with a communist state.

      Romero paid for his betrayal of his flock by being assassinated at his own pulpit by a good Salvadoran with a gun. If he thought his vestments excused him from accountability for his actions, that was a fatal error.

      Pope Francis declared Romero a saint in 2018, hoping no doubt that he would meet his hero in the next world. Francis should have been more careful what he wished for. The first mystery of faith Oscar will have revealed to Francis is an important one for all the departed—whether hell exists.

    Likewise, there was no mention of reporting that points to the possibility of an Iranian missile misfire. The school in question sits about 650 yards from an IRGC naval base and a misfire is well within the realm of possibility given that the same thing often happened in Gaza. Likewise, these misfires were often blamed on Israel.

  11. I had said a few weeks past that I’d be surprised if the US attacked during ramadan, as I had thought it had the potential to enflame the muslims against the US, and now exactly the opposite has occurred.

    I will point out in Rose’s X post that the leader of Iran wasn’t really the “premier” leader, he was just a clerc.
    I know, I know they say “cleric” but I enjoy a laugh to myself while I refer to their upper class islamists as “clercs” and I’m not ever going to stop.
