I just watched a podcast by Eric Sammons (“Crisis Point”). He is a Catholic traditionalist anti-Trumper, but what he said yesterday was interesting, especially for we Canadians. He said that Mark Carney said that “the U.S. is no longer the leader of the free world”, and that as a result Trump, upon hearing this went ballistic, threatening to end the NORAD agreement and to militarize the Canada/U.S. border, I.e. make it far more difficult for Canadians to visit and trade with the U.S. Carney for his part has used back channels to garner support from Britain, Australia, Japan. Mr. Sammons says ending NORAD would weaken the U.S. defence posture to defend North American airspace.
Prime Minister KIeith Starmer, in one of his many crazed decisions, has just denied the U.S. the use of the Diego Garcia airspace to launch sorties against Iran, a move endangering the anti-revolutionary regime effort against Iran. Mr. Sammons says this pro-Iran move stems from Carney and Starmer decision to isolate the U.S. from the West.
The Crisis Point podcast is compelling. Here are my takes on it.
1. Carney will call an early election, based on his vitriolic anti-U.S. statements and moves. He will tear up the agreement to purchase U.S. jet fighters and buy the Swedish Grippen. Carney will win an easy majority victory given his extremist anti-Trump posture and because Pierre Poilievre’s unprepared planning.
2. Trump justifiably detests the Carney Liberal Laurentian rule, on so many fronts.Trump will retaliate with a number of economic moves. I foresee a big time economic recession here in Canada, with working and lower-income families suffering. I and my wife will be reorienting our decisions given what’s coming.

Given President Zelensky’s unacceptable behavior toward Slovakia, treating it as a hostile country, I consider it absolutely correct that I refused to involve the Slovak Republic in the latest €90 billion military loan for Ukraine.”
The Superior Court of Ontario said yesterday that the obscenely lenient sentence for child,pornography possession, handed down by a federal Ontario judge, was wrong. A prison sentence would be better than the conditional sentence handed down. But the appeals court allowed the conditional sentence to remain in place.
