  1. When you plan on, and do, treat old-stock Canadians like criminals, you want new-stock Canadians to enforce the rules.

How fun is it to shoot an old white guy who “suddenly” has an illegal .22?
The cops aren’t going to enforce the gun property confiscation, so why not use some soldiers? Especially ones who have been in active theaters.

And how easy is it to shoot Albertan traitors?

    Just following orders…

  2. Since the motives behind recruiting foreign soldiers into the Canadian military is not clearly stated it’s hard to say if it’s desperation or something more sinister. Either way it displays the failure of decades of federal government policies. Political ideology and underfunding has caused recruitment of Canadians into the military to collapse.

Personally, being a cynic, I think this new policy is at best desperation. At worst, it will give weapons and training to people with no connection to Canada or Canadian people. It is not difficult to see how using foreigners to quell protests in Canada could be misused. Remember how Trudeau’s government wanted to bring in the military to end the freedom convoy but, IIRC, the military refused. Recruiting soldiers from countries where it is normal for the military to attack citizens is a disaster waiting to happen.

    1. It’s just a way for Carney’s Liberals to import more foreigners into the country.

They’re still committed to a population of 100 million.

      1. Historically, recruiting foreigners into the military has gone very badly. Rome being the prime example. If Ottawa still wants a massively bigger population, using the military is quite possibly the worst way to do this. Especially considering Ottawa’s complete failure to do proper background checks and vetting of immigrants. Ottawa recruiting criminals into the military is not unthinkable given their immigration incompetence over the last decade.

        1. The worst way to do it?

Liberals don’t care. They’re like Democrats in the US; i.e. they are looking to import as many people as possible, because they think these people will vote for them.

          1. The Liberal’s immigration policy is so batshit crazy that there definitely was ulterior motives, imo. Importing a new voter base was obviously one of their reasons for massive uncontrolled immigration. The motives were also to artificially inflate the GDP, catering to corporate lobbyists to reduce labor costs and to keep real estate prices rising.

          1. The trick for the Legion is to have the meaner criminals discipline the others. And isolate them from society. Do they still run their own whorehouses? I would never mess with them but I would not hold them as an example of something desirable in the CF. We have had one example of portion of a unit go rogue and it wan’t pretty.

          2. @pappy_gunn Not sure if they still run their own whorehouses, and can’t be bothered to look.

It’s also not a good model for canada, not the least of which is we don’t have any colonies to put them in far away from Canada.

    2. It’s a GREAT way to import the CCP PLA soldiers into the military, in disguise.
We have Chinese Police and their Stations here now, why not the Chinese Military too?
      Just part of Carnage’s grand plan…….and Xi’s.

  3. The Americans had damn well better invade us. If they don’t invade, they will have one helluva major problem to their north. Even the Demoncraps won’t want to put up with us.

    1. Back in 1776 Georgie III had no hesitation paying Hessian mercenaries to bump up his troop numbers.
      Still didn’t help though.

      1. Funny part about the 40,000 “Hessian” troops. Many liked America once they understood what was going on and deserted. In the end 1/3rd of the German Mercenaries refused to go back to the Olde Country and prospered here. Some of them are my ancestors so I say thanks for staying in America.

The most crucial battle of the war was Saratoga where we surrouned the Brits and Germans. When put on guard duty during the siege the Germans threw down their muskets and came over to the American side. The British eventually had to station British troops to guard the German guards. Some of the British soldiers also fled. That led General Johnny Burgyone to surrender.

The victory at Saratoga led France to come in our side and that meant the eventual end of the war as the French Fleet bottled up many harbors except New York City and finally at the Battle of Yorktown the French Fleet was instrumental and that was the end of the war when Cornwallis surrendered the British Army.

        1. Dang I almost dropped my coffee. An American recognizing the crucial role France played in Yorktown and US idependance. You don’t see that every day.

      2. The US has “40-65,000” foreigners in their armed forces and recruit 8,000 new ones every year.

        1. And I bet they are vetted much further than what Kanada will do. It’s also my understanding they need a certain amount of combat experience before getting fast-tracked to US citizenship.

        2. And there have been problems with them, although most are not a problem. The difference is: most of them are not prior service military before joining ours.
Their naturalization is merely expedited (shorter residency requirements) and fees waived. They have to serve honorably for 1 year or during designated wartime. And they still have to go through some form of naturalization process (interview, civics test, biometric ID, and background check).

    2. Nope — it’s not our job to fix things for you. You’re already a bit of a problem…but…everyone deserves a chance at redemption. Let’s see if you can do it.

        1. Well, that still might constitute a you problem, should you let them fire at us — then we might have to waive our previous restrictions on what we do to you, remember at that point they’re no longer PLA they’re CAF.
It wouldn’t be a very good thing for either of us, so maybe you should get to moving on that road to redemption thing, eh?

  4. I’m old enough to remember when liberals knee jerk reaction to the military was that they were just a bunch of mercenaries.
The only difference now is that they are saying it like it’s a good thing.

  5. The Tragedy:
Trojans are tricked into letting foreign soldiers inside their gates.
    The Farce:
Canadians invite foreigners soldiers inside their gates.

    Elbows up!

  6. Maybe Canada’s military has to open a medical school like the US military. Since 1/4 of the military is behind desks in Ottawa open a hospital that that could provide basic family practice training and farm out a large portion to big city emergency departments to learn to handle trauma cases. And make them do 10 solid years after training. If they go AWOL they can become medical officers in Alert.

    1. Canada already sends military doctors into the community. When I was in Petawawa in the early 90s all the doctors on the base took regular shifts at the local hospital ER.

  7. When the foreign members of Canada’s military drop the ball, will it be against Canadian law to mention they were foreign members and not actual Canadians?
    Will the PM respond with…
“a member of the Canadian military is a military member,
a member of the Canadian military is a military member,
a member of the Canadian military is a military member… ?

    The optics aren’t good.
There isn’t enough citizens who are willing to fight for Canada, the military sets a goal for new recruits, and there isn’t enough signups. I don’t blame the military, perhaps someone should ask the high school students if they are considering a career in the military and if not, why not? Is it the money? Is it the training? Is it the equipment?

It’s not like the gov’t of Canada would know why this is. They don’t have any past successes to point to which would indicate expertice in… in anything.

    1. I don’t know if it is still the case but I have read that they have quotas for every type of recruit but white men. If the want 30 percent women they get it by turning away men and take every woman they can get. They had a lot of men wanting to join but unless they could get 3 women for every 7 men they just turned away the men. “Gender balance” is more important than meeting manning requirements. Now the men know where they stand and don’t even bother trying to enlist, and I don’t blame them. Why put your life on the line for a country that hates you and is willing to get you killed for their social engineering experiments?

      1. They have quotas. I met a young man training as an aircraft technician (wrench-turner). He had a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Carlton, with honors. He tried to get in as an engineer (Aerospace Engineerign Oficer) three times, turned down every time because quotas were full. I happen to know that trade is begging for engineering degrees. Oh well that’s CFRG for you, maybe he can remuster down the line.

  8. CAF Recruiter:
“So, where did you learn your military specialty?”

    Foreign Loyalty CAF candidate:
“I Lear explosives, macheen gun, and infiltration with the Chinee Pee-puhls Literation AAhMee!”

    CAF Recruiter:
    “Welcome to Club Canaduh.”
    “God Save the King”

  9. Why can’t these clueless collectivists attract Canadians given the high pay ($52K newbie) and excellent benefits?
China just opened a recruiting centre beside one of their police stations.
That entails fast tracking foreign recruits to get their PR and or citizenship?
Love to see the “DND 450” on those foreign folks.
The meatheads will be tearing their hair out over that.
Luckily they’re allowed to grow it longer.
(Except in any unit I would command)

  10. Meanwhile, in Minnesota the Governor is advising his Somalian constituents if they get caught embezzling day-care funds, bolt for Canada and join their military.

  11. How many eligible candidates are already here?

There are over 30,000 immigrants coming to Canada every month.

Now add temporary workers and students.
They could triple the CAF numbers rather quickly.

The Chair Force in Ottawa might become uncomfortable rather quickly.

  12. Seen an item in an article recently that potentials recruits that apply are waiting months for a response, if they get one at all.
We don’t need foreigners for our CAF, we just need the CAF HR to get their asses in gear.
But that may be too late, recruits are probably getting answers from their HR follow up calls “Hello my name is Bob, how may I help you today?” (Heavy East Indian accent required)

    1. My nephew tried to join. Insanely fit 6 foot tall electrical engineering graduate. Born in Canada. Prime candidate for the many engineering trades. Of course the knobs at the recruiting center tried to have him enlist as a tech (which only requires a high school degree and will start you off as a private), lining him up for wasting his degree. He applied for an engineering trade (all of which have room) and they kept him on the back burner for a year. He got a civilian job instead. Many bright young men are wasting their lives waiting for a call or waiting for a course (especially pilots) so they say screw it and move on. Who wants to join an loser outfit anyways?

    2. You’re problem is that you don’t have the funds to train, equip, and house said recruits.

  13. They’ll do anything short of recruiting a white Canadian man. They can all go to hell for all I care anymore.

    1. The lady general in charge of HR has expressly stated that SWM aren’t welcome in the new military that wants the military to look like the general population.

  14. Canada currently has just under 35k in prisons. I think offering “some” of them early release with successful military serving in exchange, is a good idea.
Russia’s prison population is down by 40% in the past few years. I don’t know if they were “given a choice” but that’s moot to me.
    just sayin’

Opinions may differ if there was an actual war and the choice was your kids or someone else’s kids who were facing years in the big house.

  15. My son spent the better part of a year trying to join the military and he even had the university entrance program. Eventually he gave up because it was going nowhere and he found good oilpatch work that was much more rewarding but a much poorer career. He kept doing pointless bullshit online and never had an interview. It was like they didn’t actually want anyone. My observations were shared by other parents. One parent’s kid took a year to get into Armoured Corps. That it takes a year to select someone to drive a frigging vehicle is lunacy.

    1. Not the ones you’d be getting you don’t.
JSOC members tend to get picked up by private contractors who pay them very, very well — or they do podcasts (and also work private contractor work)…unless they’re just really really bad.

Even a Ranger or Raider can expect 5K monthly.

      1. Gees. Burst my bubble jane. I thought they would have a higher Code of Ethics ingrained in them during their training.

  16. Very few of the “newcomers” line up at the recruiting center. Why should they, they have no connection to this country or its culture. After decades of begging and PR publicity and preferential recruitment and promotion, women are still only 10 to 14% of the force. Who can blame them, all the recruitment adds are for Combat Arms; I don’t know any girls that want to hump a rucksack and a rifle until her knees and back give out. Plenty of them whould love being a dental assisant or pharmacist, all needed trades. The recruitment strategy and processing of recruits up to their first trade course is an abysmal failure. The outfit responsible for that has no skin in the game and the 3 elements have no authority over them. Their motivation is only to fill quotas and they have cooked the books in the past, causing problems down the line. Not going to point out who was in charge of that lately because it’s been a problem for decades. Their DEI and feminist policies only compounded systematic problems. Another truth is that nobody wants to join a loser outfit. I mean we see it on this thread, the CF is a laughing stock. All the gear save a few example is obsolescent or obsolete or broken. Broken subs, decrepit ships, a handful of tanks (now hulks in Ukraine), right down to pistols falling apart on the range. The RCAF is 100 years old now. The CF18 has been its front line fighter for 44 of those. And counting. I’ve personally known many bright young men, actual engineers applying for trades begging for personnel left out to dry for months by CFRG. As some have pointed out above, having foreigners form part of a mercenary portion of your armed forces seldom turn out well and the motivation for joining are wrong. This latest push? “Service gurantees citizenship” comes to mind. And all attending free gibs for families.

    1. I forgot to add: Some British and Germans career military personnel (pilots in particular) have tried join the CF and have hit an immigration wall. There are a few out there, but most have had absolute hell trying to immigrate and join. Again in trades that are on the verge of collapse.

    2. Right now I’d say citizenship is hardly a top priority for most of your non-citizen population. Why tend the cow when you can get the milk for free?

  17. There are some ideas so bad, that only a Liberal could embrace them.
    Alberta will need a militia.
For such government thugs, sharing nothing with the tax paying citizen, will be used against us.
Dear Leader Justine wanted to use the military against the Truckers.
This is probably when the Liberals realized we have no military and when this profoundly retarded concept was spawned.
