Now, in 2026, the Democrats have changed their tune slightly, insisting that women are too stupid to get the required id to vote.
For the record, the vast majority of Americans are very much in support of the SAVE Act.
But.. rounding up illegals, bums, and drug-addicts and bussing them off to the polling station to vote (D) is a staple of (D)emocrat voting drives.. how could we disenfranchise all those harvested voters like this?! Is nothing sacred?! MAGAts are such fascists!

Just take a bunch of voter cards to old-age homes and fill them out for the residents. One stop, multiple votes.

Lost in the fog of words is any recognition that a person who’s too stupid to get an ID shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Therefore, the politicians advocating for no voter ID will be those whose policies have the most appeal to stupid voters.
No ID to vote? The rest of the world is ignorantly contemptuous of the idea,
and only after 200+ years did the US Congress become concerned enough
(about what exactly?) to prohibit non US citizens from voting in Federal elections (1996).
It’s difficult to isolate the history/origin of this unique-to-USA issue, but I’ve a guess;
… freedom.
Freedom to “mind your own business”, to presume ones neighbor is no longer a loyalist or spy,
free from concern over election fraud, free to address corrupt authority with the full confidence
that blind justice your ally… all inherited from 18th century England “The Land of Liberty”
where existed customs & duties but no passport to come or go,
where to speak or not, and what to say, was truly ones free choice.
This long lingering and inherent understanding of Freedom is still reflected today in the US
where all but 8 states require only a declaration of US citizenship when registering to vote.
The Left’s “values and beliefs” cannot comprehend such freedom,
it’s not mere envy or crass jealousy, it’s unfathomable,
seen as a weakness to be despised, exploited, torn down,
rather than a high and noble goal to strive towards themselves.

Why not just have the same process as here in Canada? If you don’t have id a person you know from your polling place who has provided ID can vouch for you.
