We Don’t Need No Flaming Sparky Cars

Imagine how much grief and wanton waste might have been avoided had the Masters Of The Universe simply listened to little old me.

Stellantis NV shares crashed the most on record in European trading after the automaker disclosed a 22-billion-euro (about $25 billion) charge tied to its failed EV strategy.

Management framed the charge as the cost of misreading the slope of EV adoption, effectively building a product and investment plan around an “energy transition” timeline that outpaced customers’ budgets.

“The reset we have announced today is part of the decisive process we started in 2025, to once again make our customers and their preferences our guiding star,” Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa wrote in a statement.

Filosa said, “The charges announced today largely reflect the cost of over-estimating the pace of the energy transition that distanced us from many car buyers’ real-world needs, means and desires. They also reflect the impact of previous poor operational execution, the effects of which are being progressively addressed by our new Team.”

  1. FILTHY LIBERALS
I’m not holding out hope that retarded Boomers will eventually realize they were duped by some elbows and American Mike Myers.
I look forward to working much overtime on the Battery Plants. Canada will corner the market on useless factories.!! Yay!

We used to make fun of USSR when their tractors sat in fields due to no parts, or people would take jeans there because Russians didn’t have them.
LOOK AT US! $52,000,000,000.00 Criminally wasted on EV’s by Brilliant FILTHY LIBERALS including Dug Ford of Most Glorious FORDISTAN (Where are the investigations?????

Anyway, VOTE LIBERAL next time and it will shorten the Despotism and decay as they will have to be dealt with by the greatest Country in the history of history- The USA.

    1. L – Listing the zeros of the public monies wasted is effective. The Net Zero of Carney’s Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, along wth Trump Derangement Syndrome, threatens to turn Canada into a lunatic asylum. Which describes British Columbia and eastern Canada…

  2. PPDS, prevents liberals from swinging!
Carney pivots to EU, boom Stellantis!
Carney pivots to China, boom EV rebates!
Carney pivots to Green, boom heatpumps
Heatpumps from USA (?), Korea, Japan
    Subs from Korea
    Ferries from China
    Commercial planes from EU
    Government planes from Quebec (separatists)
    Fighter jets from Sweden
    Foreign oil to Canada East
Not sure how the HVAC industry is going to survive replacing US made RTU’s with offshore. It’s all so much TDS BS pure politics for the plebs.

  3. This is what happens when you allow women and effeminate men into positions of power and authority. Men need to re-assert our natural power and authority over the world at large before we destroy ourselves.

    1. Not just effeminate men, but Nutless Cowards. Nutless Wonders might be a better description.
Plain old Eunuchs could work as a description.

As for the women, they’re Mewling Quims.

  4. Governments the world over, have a lousy track record investing in auto companies; from Bricklin, De Lorean, to Fiat, to Lada (well that one was stolen and still a failure), any French car maker. That said, the money donated to electric, would have been better spent on an all Canadian automaker, with no EV’s. Still a bad deal, but far better than what they did.

  5. Mark Carney – The CCP Prime Minister of Canada: Chinese Cars and their SPYWARE.
Chinese cars are banned on all of Israel’s IDF bases and officers forbidden to drive them.

“The Car Industry Is Racing to Replace Chinese Code – New U.S. rules ban Chinese software in vehicles on national-security grounds” – By:Stephen Wilmot -Feb. 5, 2026 11:00 pm ET
    “Quick Summary:
    1) New U.S. regulations will ban Chinese software in internet-connected vehicle systems starting March 17, with hardware restrictions following in 2029.
    2) Automakers face challenges in identifying and replacing Chinese software due to complex supply chains and proprietary intellectual property concerns.
    3) Chinese cellular module manufacturers held 87% of the global market share in the first half of last year, up from 69% in 2019.

Carney hates Israel and America and those two countries are evil in his enlightened world view but Communist China is Canada’s new ally. So nothing to worry about, right?

  6. It’s about the jobs…it’s always about the jobs. Unemployed workers make shitty voters.
EV’s are gussied up buggy whips.
“We must take care of ourselves,”…
    Elbows Up y’all!

  7. The world is run by stupid by stupid people because the stupid majority keeps the stupid people in charge.

    1. The people in charge are not lazy or stupid. They wouldn’t be nearly as dangerous if they were. They’re just very good at exploiting the laziness and stupidity of people who really are lazy and stupid.

      1. May I present Exhibit A: Gary Anandasangaree. Or Exhibit B: Jennifer O’Connell. Not to mention Sean Fraser and Mark Holland. The list is very long but these bubbled to the top quickly. They may not all be lazy (although I believe Gary Alphabet is), but they sure are stupid.

  8. Is there a political policy regression that parallels the stages of grief?
1- denial (“the planet is burning we have to get everyone out of their gas powered cars”)
2-excuses (“ok so making everyone give up their gas powered cars was foolish so we are just going to make it law that all the cars have to have zero emissions in three years””
3-outrage will come when no EV’s will be allowed to cross the border let alone sold
4- acceptance will come when folks vote with their wallet or the country goes into bankruptcy and the creditors just shut the whole thing down

  9. Admitting the need to “…once again make our customers and their preferences our guiding star…” demonstrates exactly how terribly large companies are managed, and how un-investable they are. Any CEO who thinks his company can dictate to customers what their preferences should be is an obvious candidate for a position in government. Thankfully I dumped my Stellantis shares last year.

Now where do shareholders go to get their reimbursement?

  10. Don’t worry about us investing or moving full speed ahead with EVs. We’re broke. Broke, poor and destitute as a nation. We won’t be driving anywhere in the near future

  11. Well, Kate. They don’t believe women.

At least, they don’t believe women who have anything to say that they might need to hear, as opposed to what they want to hear.

Ask any Israeli woman who survived October 7 and had her account of that day dismissed as fiction by the people who believed anything a woman said if they thought it could help them stop Donald Trump from returning to the White House.

  12. “Oh, we weren’t wrong,” say the Liberals, “we just hadn’t completed enough legislative coercion and public brainwashing before bringing out EV mandates.”

  13. Stellantis really crushed it, didn’t they?
    The less than thrilling Hornet.
Dropping their powerful V8 Hemi in favour of an EV Charger with “vroom vroom” noises.
Dropping the V8 in trucks in favour of a turbo6 that has been completely unreliable.
Fiat, Maserati and Alfa Romeo JUNK.
And then there is the big, overpriced Dodge Wagoneer line, charging as much as luxury models of better Japanese and German product.
The Cherokee had 71% of its models UNSOLD.
What a disaster of a company.
Is anyone in Ottawa paying attention? The core problem of Stellantis was building vehicles that most people DO NOT WANT.
Under powered and EV models with poor reliability.
Read up on the CHY-NA garbage cars and their poor quality, and flammable features.
Ideology over practicality never, ever wins.
    Trabants anybody?

    1. I met a foreman at the Windsor plant, 3 yrs back. Stellantis were planning on a common EV chassis for the cars and vans. Switch from gas-EV.
      Battery plant building under construction.
