  1. There is zero desire to leave Canada.
Why would you leave that which you rule?
    It’s always been that way.
Separatism has always been a ruse.

    1. Canada could easily survive Quebec separation…..in fact, Canada would be released from the Quebec anchor. But, Canada could not survive the separation of Alberta or any of a conglomerate of western provinces.

      1. Canada will not survive, with or without Quebec, with or without the west. That ship has sailed, the die has been cast. Quebec might hasten it’s demise, that would be awesome.

  2. Why wait until 2030. Do it the day after the election!! Also, as an Alberta resident do I get a vote?

    1. No. But if I thought they really meant it I’d cut the bastards a $100 cheque tomorrow…and I’d triple the amount if they dragged Ottawa along with them.

  3. Shrug. Despite two harsh years of rights and freedoms suppressions during the Wuhan flu hysteria Quebecers re-elected the arsehole in 2022 with a huge majority: 90 out of 125 seats. Time and time again they vote for whichever candidate/party has the greatest prospect of tyranny.

They are much like the electorates in Ontario and BC.

  4. The Yahoo article mentions the PQ having promised to hold a separation referendum in or by 2030, PQ leader Paul St. Pierre Plamondon has said the PQ will have a separation referendum within 2 years of governing. Which places that referendum in the autumn of 2028 at the latest.
The PQ is polling well ahead of both the Quebec #Libranos and the CAQ by +15 points and although separation is polling 15% for “no” atm it was within 5% 2 years ago… it could quickly turn again, keeping in mind that equalization may be on all province’s table if/when AB votes to separate late in 2026. Some folks insist the eq. money is the only reason Quebec stays, I think it is much more than that but the money certainly helps.

The news report of Legault’s resignation at one of the online sites mentions how he “guided Quebec through the covid crisis” …. which is as idiotic as I could imagine, I read it a few times and closed the page.
    Too much uff for me.

The CAQ is mentioned as the conservatives but note that the PQ has moved into that space as well since Plamondon became leader. I actually think Plamondon would be good for the province…

    1. Alberta will not vote to separate they are cowards like all Canadians. This shithole will sink together, unified in their absolute faith in mommy government.

  5. Can’t we vote them out?

The last time there was a referendum, I voted for them to stay, for the unity of the country. I was a lot younger and naive back then. I wont make the same mistake twice!
