    1. amen
l will mention him in the prayer sessions upcoming @ church Sunday.
thats a first but very justified

  1. RIP Scott … a bright light in a world that is increasingly dark.
In the early 1990’s the company I was working at had an endless stream of Dilbert like occurrences. My favourite memory of that fuster cluck is when a workmate said to me “we are working in a Dilbert cartoon”.
    A sad day.

    1. Adams said repeatedly that most of the Dilbert strips weren’t his idea, they were straight up transcriptions of things fans told him happened in their companies.

    2. lol l had a boss for a while reminded myeof the dilbert boss, appearance *and* behaviour.
      l called him ‘ootc’

  2. I just sat down to have a coffee and this came up. RIP. You left a great body of work behind for others to enjoy including some very funny cartoons.

  3. To be able to make another laugh spontaneously and release all the endorphins available is a great gift and a relief to the witness. Be at peace – we will all laugh with your legacy.

  4. At my previous workplace, I stuck one of his comic strips on my pegboard where Dilbert’s company introduces a new form of software called “Quickprotect”, which was so buggy that all it did was erase your hard drive. When Dilbert asserted that they needed to withdraw the product, the sales guy insisted that they could just fix the bug on the next release. Adams was pure comedic genius.

  5. Very sad.

It seems like being a leading right of centre pundit causes cancer…
    Charles Krauthammer
    Rush Limbaugh
    Christopher Hitchens
    Rex Murphy
    PJ O’Rourke
    David Horowitz
    Scott Adams
    Victor Davis Hanson

When I did an AI deep dive on leading left of centre pundits I barely recognized any names.

    1. Christopher Hitchens was on the right? My observations were that he was left. His only foray to the right that I’m aware of was his book “No-one Left to Lie To” in which he expressed his disgust with Bill & Hillary Clinton.

    1. He died an honest death too … communicating openly about his journey … daily.

I admit, when my only older brother (mentor, and protector) died suddenly of a rare and aggressive lymph cancer at age 27 … I fought for his life kicking and screaming. Drove him every other day, across the Bay, to Stanford for cutting edge chemo and care (the most fabulous Doctors and Nurses I’ve ever met). It’s different when the young die long before their time. It’s not the natural order of the Universe.

  6. He brought many a smile to my office. When I worked in Europe everyday I used to post a new Dilbert cartoon on my office hall window. People used to come from many other floors just to read the cartoon.

Several people would say to me, “does Scott Adams work here? His cartoons seem to exactly describe our boss/department/company.”

    He will be missed.

    1. Thanks for posting the WUWT article. Having never read Scott’s books … I guess I just learned I am a 3d thinker. I call myself simply a skeptic. I don’t accept anything on face value as it is being SOLD to me. I have to dig deeper into mechanisms involved.

No, I would NEVER have become a Bernie Madoff investor as I would demand to know EXACTLY how he was promising a >15% return. I’d have demanded to know precisely where he was putting my money for that “guaranteed return”, and why I couldn’t just make the same investments on my own? But there are a LOT of wealthier people than me who dumped $B’s into his lap on that flimsy promise. They’re richer than me … so they must be smarter than me, Right? We worship wealth so much in our culture … that those people who got fleeced of $M’s are considered smarter than me.

      Huh? 3d thinking. OK then.

  7. Naturally I didn’t agree with all his views, but I agreed with his way of thinking. He was a learned man who knew himself first and foremost.

  8. A sad day. Rational people who think critically and are willing to admit their mistakes are rare and precious.
IIRC he chose to be vaccinated and then admitted he made a bad choice. Is he another victim of turbocancer? My uncle is 86 and was diagnosed with prostate cancer over 10 years ago but he’s still walking around causing trouble and telling jokes.

    1. There is no scientific evidence of a “turbocancer” epidemic, and Adams did not acknowledge a relation between vaccines and cancer, even though many of his followers suggested it. The turbocancer scare appears to be fabricated from whole cloth by the antivaxx community.

      1. “antivaxx community”.

The term the brainwashed use for people who can see through the lies they can’t.

      2. Just curious if you believe in the current … “Superflu” … that is laying waste to humanity … esp. “the chilldren” across the planet?

        Speaking of hyperbole.

          1. Honestly ? Reacting to KM’s citation of Scott’s belief in a “turbocancer” … is off topic? Oh well …

          2. Superflu laying waste to children across the planet does strike me as off the topic. Scott Adams was not a child and was not wasted by superflu. But he was a good man. May God grant him rest and peace, and I expect to see him in Heaven (even if I’m just looking in from outside).

    2. Scott made terrible treatment choices for his condition. Your uncle obviously went with proven methods.

For COVID, Ivermectin vs unproven mRNA vaccines is a wash, IM probably wins. I chose neither and COVID was a mild flu for me.

For PCa, Ivermectin vs RALP/radiation/ADT is a clear win for the proven treatments. I chose radiation and ADT, and here I am.

  9. One last sip …. or is it?
Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20

    1. As a passionate … congenital … coffee drinker. I have no doubt God is having a cup with Scott.

  10. Scott Adams gave a humble statement of faith that included his own non belief. His “risk reward calculation” is profoundly honest. It’s not hypocritical to acknowledge unbelief and take a leap of faith anyway. You don’t have to be on your deathbed to read and appreciate what Scott Adams wrote on his. May he rest in peace.

  11. He lived an honest, meaningful life. We will miss him. RIP, Scott. Condolences to your friends and family.
