BBC- UK viewers warm up for steamy ice hockey hit Heated Rivalry
Based on Rachel Reid’s books, the series centres on the illicit relationship between two ice hockey players – one Canadian and the other Russian – who are rivals on the ice but lovers off it.
The show has grabbed attention for its sex scenes, but has won praise for its heartfelt depiction of LGBT relationships, and sparked discussions about representation on TV and in sport.
It was made by Canadian streaming service Crave and was swiftly picked up by HBO Max in the US, where it was released in late November.

The subject matter is perhaps not the worst part; it’s the lack of originality, the lack of good writing/development…Hallmark movies, but make them gay! Sad thing is that there are probably people out there (lonely, frustrated white liberal women of a certain age, let’s be honest) who like this dreck. They also buy books about spunky feminist women swept off their feet by minotaurs (made it on the NYT bestsellers…I don’t want to hear anyone complain about Jane Austen again, not after this).
There’s a recent documentary about food rationing in England during WWII. In the bit about the Land Girl they had a talking head talking about how the land army was a boon for lesbians because, not having husbands or children, they would be sent away from home and they could form liaisons in the Land Girls. Does it have to be in EVERYTHING?
Those who rule us keep pushing this disgusting shit on normal people despite the overwhelming majority of them feeling revulsion at this perversion.

Someone should make a similar show involving figure skaters. Only, the a male figure skater has an affair off the ice with a female skater rival. The joke is that there aren’t any straight male figure skaters and finding one to tell this story would be as outlandish as the two hockey player scenario noted above.
The whole point being that while the alphabet grouping of sexually infatuated idiots are telling you that a same sex relationship is perfectly normal…they are selling such a show to the streaming companies by suggesting it’s unique and a novelty. Can’t have it both ways boys and girls.
The media push about this “popular” show is leftist propaganda.
They keep saying how popular it is, but they are hiding the actual number of views.
HBO claims they don’t have that information for their HBO Max streaming only shows, but they have released numbers before for other shows.
Like most cultural issues, the media is trying to convince you that the crazy 5-10% are the norm.

Seems to me having a female, Rachel Reid, writing about gay male sex and love, is some kind of a variant on cultural appropriation. I have my doubts about a woman being able to correctly write about such stuff. Maybe she’s a trans woman. That might make it okay.
