O.K. You lost me on ‘penny farthings’ Happy New Year to Kate and the SDA crew.
I could be wrong, but I think “penny farthings” were primitive bicycles, and “penny fartings” were primitive pay toilets…
Why? The penny-farthing was nicknamed the neck breaker because of the injuries riders would sustain if they went over the bars. After the invention of the ‘safety cycle’ with its chain driven rear wheel in the 1890s the penny-farthing was obsolete.
