      1. They also had one titled “why the Germans feared Canadian Infantry” which notes that the British were dedicated, committed, but tired, the Americans produced guns and tanks and aircraft faster than the Germans produced bullets and had an enormous base of support/logistics, and the Canadians were relentless and unpredictable.

  1. Well, I have that Deodato vinyl. My dad had an extensive collection of jazz/funk jazz records and I grew up listening to that stuff. Thanks for the memories!!! Gotta dustup the LP and play!!! Happy New Year!

  2. There is a theory called “out of Africa” that claims Africans migrated into Europe and eventually North America roughly 60,000 years ago, representing the original population of Homo Sapiens.

Translation: African blacks were the original colonizers.

    1. The theory, a bit racist but it hasn’t been debunked, is that people emigrated from Africa long ago, but that some of the out-migrants returned to Africa out of necessity. That this is true is that, even today, there is what demographers call “return migration”. For example, Alberta has received a large number of interprovincial migrants, but some return back tomtheir respective provinces.

So the theory is that return migration back to Africa is a self-selection process. The stronger and smarter humans migrating to Europe and Asia stayed because they were more resilient. But then again the migrants who migrated the furthest, the aboriginals in the America’s and Australia, never advanced culturally. This is why the European Enlightenment is key. Conservatism is rediscovering the Enlightrnment, since it is under threat by Islam and other refugees.

      1. I asked Google…

“The question of whether early Africans were black is complex and nuanced. While early human populations in Africa likely possessed darker skin as a protective adaptation to ultraviolet radiation, modern racial categories are social constructs rather than biological realities. The origin of Homo sapiens is widely accepted to be in Africa, and the ancestral population likely had darker skin due to environmental pressures. However, the term “black” is a modern classification that does not accurately reflect the diversity of human ancestry.”

Translation: you’re racist for asking that question.

  3. FYI: Also sprach Zarathustra was written by Richard Strauss in 1896.
The original is a little over 30 minutes long.

  4. CTV news carefully explains why iIran labeled the Canadisn navy a “terrorist group”:
    https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/article/iran-lists-canadas-navy-as-terrorist-organization-in-response-to-move-by-ottawa

c/o the left-wing Canadian Press, all the while fully censoring any mention of mass protests currently going on by fed up dissidents in Iran. A check shows that CBC news and the Globe and Mail are still censoring the protests. The BBC World News has published a story, so have conservative outlets. I suggested yesterday that protestors have been shot, but re-reading the available print media this morning suggests that a few dozen dissidents have been arrested, with loud protests continuing.

  5. Checking the newswire list on the Canadian Press site, this story appears…
    https://www.thecanadianpressnews.ca/business/iran-central-bank-governor-resigns-as-protests-erupt-over-currency-drop/article_dfb8ccbd-18b0-5c35-8451-57828ff0d00d.html

It’s an Associated Press story, two days old, but all of the major media in our country suppressed it even though it was available to them. This is why we need a strong conservative media here. The censorship by the elites is so awful.

  6. Regina university professor argues there aren’t enough taxpayer funded genderwang social engineering programs on Canadian TV.
They don’t even pretend it’s entertainment, it’s all about social engineering and creating ‘good’ propaganda using tax dollars. Canadians aren’t thinking all the proper thoughts so more tax dollars should be shoveled into the media trough.
Because Orange Man Bad, of course.

Hmmm, do you think that perhaps your government is trying to cover up some questionable money moves?

*In the meantime probably some poor schmucks are going to get their wages garnished and their bank accounts frozen — moral of the story: “We’re from the government, and we’re here to help.” should always be suspect.

  8. BC just released a list of the most popular baby names for 2025: https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2025/12/30/bc-govt-reports-most-popular-baby-name-of-the-year/
However, since they didn’t release the raw data (yet?) we don’t know if they are lying or trying to mislead us. You know where I’m going with this don’t you? I decided to go down a rabbit hole with the federal data for 2024 as that is the latest available. It turns out that if you combine the various spellings of the name of the founder of Islam, then that name is the third most popular male baby name in Canada for 2024, with 1,601. Noah is most popular with 2,115 and Liam is second with 1,694. Will we ever see the raw data for 2025 in Canaduh? Stay tuned.

    1. So if you run a sand mine, and you don’t pay your taxes, the government can impound your assets. So, you can tell the government to go impound sand! I don’t see how people can resist it…

  9. Another water break in Calgary, very close to the one that happened 2 years ago and affecting many of the same people. Boil water advisory. Water restrictions due to low water pressure.

Thanks for the $18 billion transfer to Quebec. Their water infrastructure looking pretty good 🙂

  10. The fall of International Harvester. Once twice as large as John Deere…a bad decision was made in 1977 – someone from the modern corporate world was picked to run one of America’s most successful companies. Who cut costs … with short term gains … and provoked the unions … who went on strike … production stopped … leading to lost market share … losses mounted … a sudden economic slow down … farmers stopped investing in equipment … debt kept rising … finally the strike was settled … but the customer base had disappeared. Inventory mounted … company layoffs … company sold off divisions … ended dividend payout … restructured debt in 1981 … sales collapsed. CEO was fired (later gave a talk at Harvard on how to run a business). It was all too late. Sold to a competitor (Case) in 1985 for a fraction of its value. Renamed Navistar.

      1. Not sure where the 49th parallel comes into this story. It should be called North of 49, as it is a Canadian propaganda movie. A classic though, although I prefer Cagney’s rendition of riotous Ottawa in Captains of the Clouds.

God, the movies even got bloody wigwams in it. It’s more like a Canadian Travelogue than a war movie.

  11. Happy New Year to Kate & SDA Team, and all the regulars and irregulars. May you have a great 2026!
