Canada’s governing body for figure skating says Alberta is now a no-go zone for national and international events because of its law on transgender athletes.
But Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s office says its rules are designed to keep girls safe and says Skate Canada will someday be sorry.
Skate Canada, in a statement Tuesday, says its new policy is due to the provincial law — the Fairness and Safety in Sport Act — that prohibits transgender athletes from participating in female-only sports.
The law, which came into effect Sept. 1, blocks transgender athletes from Alberta who are 12 and older from competing in female amateur sports.
They should be blocking them all. Smith responds.

This all started with “zero tolerance anti bullying” policies in our schools. Schools were made to be “safe spaces” for Queers. But that wasn’t enough, was it? Now you must ALL bow down to the Queers. And in order to maximize the VISIBILITY of the Queerest of Queers … you MUST let Queer men pretend to be women by taking over women’s sports.

The US Olympic team banned this in early 2025 by The President’s executive action, and it will apply to the 2028 Summer Olympics in LA.
There is a possibility of them being banned just prior to the Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina Italy in February 2026.
Perhaps Skate Canada will insist Canada’s skaters do not attend these Olympics if they don’t get their way?

I would add boxing to the list except for two things: often enough there is a clear winner (with a KO for example) and I like it a lot.

Simple solution to all this trans bs is for the government to cease all funding to the venues and organizations that support this insanity. The latest covid report from UBC as reported in the Grope and Flail recently mentioned pregnant individuals and pregnant people so lets start there, suspension of educational grants to organizations, no matter who they are, who cannot differentiate the differences in sexes. Think of the tax money that could be spent elsewhere. I have a great deal of sympathy for people who are so mentally impaired that they cannot identify their own sex but asking me to contribute to their mental instability by addressing them in their ‘chosen’ identity is an insult to my intelligence and forcing me to contribute my tax money to any organization that supports this insanity is a blatant waste of my time and labour, which I totally resent.
