While not trying to diss Bugatti’s achievement with this… I think both the Koenigsegg Agera RS and Koenigsegg Jesko have higher top speeds, both with V8’s powering and I’d trust Christian Koenigsegg’s engineering well above whatever team Bugatti could muster.

Estimated top speed of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is in the 530 kph area, 330 mph, with a V8, E85 fuel, no battery pack… I think it’s doubtful he’d say that, and then only show up with something in the 400 kph area.
They’re looking for a road to test this on, and would prefer it’s a customer’s car. Haven’t thrown my hat into the ring yet.
Note to all the SDA environmentalists, the Koenigsegg Jesko gets 15-27 mpg driving like a normal person, and the Bugatti Chiron gets 8-13 mpg with a normal person, and at top speed, empties the 26 gallon tank in about 10 minutes … at 3 mpg.

IIRC, with the Veyron, Michelin made you throw away the tires after a single top-speed run. I wonder if that’s still the case for the Chiron, and the rest of the hypercar madders.
Slower traffic keep right. It’s the LAW! It’s the law here too … but they actually ENFORCE it in Germany. Slow driving in the left lane is simply not tolerated.

Here in the “wealthiest State in the USA” … CA … the potholes would utterly destroy that supercar. At those speeds the supercar would become super-deconstructed into tiny bits and pieces.

IIRC the Chiron was built expressly to beat the land speed record by a stock car. There are faster purpose-built models, but they built 300 Chirons just to fulfill the requirement of “stock” car.
Couldn’t they just fill the trunk with bouillon cubes?
