  1. I’m down here in the States but I have to say it really sickens and enrages me what has happened to Canada in the last decade plus. Always admired the country since childhood, thought it was so cool that we shared “the longest undefended border in the world”, and considered its people almost like family. If this downward trajectory in all areas of Canadian life continues unobstructed, I fully support the liberation of Canada from its communist tyrannical rulers by any means necessary. I mean if it was worth the effort in previous wars of liberation (WWII for example), well then wouldn’t it be worth it for our next door neighbor?

        1. BINGO!!!

Federally, I haven’t had a candidate worthy of my vote for a long time. Like, say, never?

    1. Down here in the State of CA … where Gavin Newsom has undefended our southern border with Mexico … my Safeway food prices track identically to Canada’s. We pay 20-30% MORE for food in the SF Bay Area than anywhere else in America. And my local Safeway produce is more pre-rotted than Canada’s. We’re getting HOSED here in CA too … ya hosers.

    1. Sort that chart from 1 to 100 – Canada is 100th…….
UK is (surprisingly, seeing as it becoming a massively taxed and regulated police state at a rate of knots) 14th.

    1. Guess it effects Canada, too.
The importance of subsidies for the agricultural sector in Canada cannot be underestimated.
They not only support farmers in maintaining profitable operations but also help ensure food security and affordability for consumers.
      Additionally, subsidies foster the growth…

  2. The comments are good reads, as well as the prof’s responses. I agree with a lot of what he says, especially where he has the expertise. I disagree about the climate blarney; yes, coffee prices were hit by bad weather in Brazil, for example, but that’s nothing unusual. He doesn’t mention increased energy and other additional costs, due to government policy, nor the drop in value of the Canadian dollar, a result of our terrible economy. And I wonder how come there is a labour shortage when, in one year, we let in 1.4 million people?

    1. Yup!
Maybe its a skilled labor shortage.
Although defining a skill these days is probably racist.
CAD was par with USD in 2008.
In Ontariowe, McGuilty and the Liberals with their green boondoggle destroyed cheap electricity.

All of it always has the filthy Liberal’s fingerprint on it.
      Anti-Canadian douchebags.

      1. You seem to have as many “skilled” commercial drivers as we do here in CA. We both Singh from the same songbook.

      2. Personally I think it has to do with people expecting higher prices. Be careful what you fear might happen because it makes it easier to fulfil your dreams.

  3. L – I wonder if there are other correlations of interest: the rise of (protected)drug cartels, money laundering, the Climate Scam(fear to justify de-industrialization, and the Scam-demic(:fear porn to justify $600 billion of debt to hide more fraud and money laundering and reducing:the birth rate, killing off the trust society that gave rise to Western Civilization(freedom under moral law!(Exodus), maiming, injuring and killing by way of gov’t. Mandates, using military Psy-Op nudge tactics against the civilian population, the use of Cult. Marxism/Identity politics to demoralize Canadians(especially the men, whose role of: To Serve, To Protect, To Produce) is the bulwark of a nation-state)….

  4. Food starts as commodities or comes from the US. Maybe lack of competition in the food trade in Canada and more unionization at all levels.

  5. Which came first, the chicken or the egg marketing board? Many comments are gems of apathetic ignorance.

    1. Canada has a few marketing boards. The US subsidizes the crap out of agriculture. Is that supposed to be way better?

  6. Since Lester Pearson, the Lieberals wanted Kanada to be European. Europe is metric so the Imperial system had to go. Europe is high food and energy prices so we’re now in that stage. Europe is totalitarian and the Lieberals want to be in on the ground floor rather than jumping in later.

    1. Canada was the only user of the Imperial system of volume measures in the world. Like that made sense. We have universally adopted liters without too much whining. Same with Celcius temperatures. The good thing is retards who object to using the metric system must be really old retards just waiting around for the pine box.

      1. I don’t think you could have packed any more concentrated SmugDouche in to that obnoxious little screed if you used an ai algorithm, and the arrogance is absolutely breathtaking. Simply amazing.. very progressive..
