The Fog of War

A longtime friend of mine in Vancouver has severe TDS and a reluctance to do any research that might possibly poke holes in his never-ending hatred of Trump. Today, he sent me this video, and this comment:

Seems like Pete got some heat to the feet from the Donald. Hard job to get in defence mode with your boss and the country looking on. Lack of face to face combat sure comes with its casualties

I did some research and sent him back this video. Will he watch it? Likely not.

But this clearly illustrates how the Deep State, the Democrats & RINOs, and their media apparatchiks shape narratives amongst normies who are so easily to manipulate.

  1. Anyone who was a friend and came out as a TDS thug or ndp commie pinko, has now been blocked from all social media and phone contacts. I’m too old to have to listen to their drivel.

    1. Yeah, you’re longtime friend Robert is a complete dolt if he doesn’t know Hegseth did nearly two years direct combat. Also, speaking of drivel, this 2nd strike crap going around lately is some of the dumbest shit I’ve seen in a while.

    2. I hear ya Frank, I feel the same way, there is no point in trying debate the brain-dead.

“It is a fool who never changes his mind” – Winston Churchhill.

I really tried to tolerate the stupidity of many leftist people I know. I cannot be friends with people I have zero respect for. With all the evidence available, they refuse to see the truth and continue their hatefest.

Blame Trump for the miserable failure their own lives are. The left can NEVER admit they are wrong.

  2. Robert, the TDS contingent are convinced Trump is the devil himself. Is your friend ‘fun’ about it, or does he spit and slobber between his rants?
I don’t argue with them, it’s like fighting with a pig. They will just drag you in the mud, and they enjoy the mess they create.
This is the same team that thought Biden was the Ace, and Trudeau was divine. Fully jabbed too.
They are bombarded with union/media propaganda 24/7, from the lying media.
We literally have a cosmic divide in the country, those who are addicted to Mass Media “news”, and those who see the media for the corrupt propagandists, that they truly are.
We’re heading off the cliff, while the media tells everyone that “We’re Awesome!!!!”

    1. “Kill them all.”
These news turds are borrowing evocative language from the theater. Stupid people with no life experiences draw reference to phrases like this from film. Essentially Hegseth is now Col. Kurtz from Apocalypse Now. It’s a deliberate lie. In fact, in other drug boat eliminations survivors were returned to their countries.
I’m not a fan of Kelly. If the survivors were “clinging to the boat” how is it that we have intercepted clear radio communications from the targeted vessel to the shore after the first strike? And why not make it perfectly clear that the primary mission is the destruction of the cargo and the safety of our sailors. Armed cartel militia deserve no courtesies. The vessel was still manned, afloat, armed, and full of cargo. That’s basically a miss, which is the most important aspect of this investigation.

As to TDS , wtf does this even mean? “Lack of face to face combat sure comes with its casualties”
      Hegseth has 2 bronze stars.
Drug runners and cartels really aren’t worth face to face engagement.

    2. You’re very insightful. He’s a lifelong public school teacher. He also watches a lot of legacy media news and treats it like gospel.

In many cases, I’ve done what `Frank1` suggests and cut acquaintances out of my life. But, in this cases, I’ve known this fellow for many decades and still have hope that he will see the light.

Interestingly, two months ago I told him that I never want to discuss American politics with him because his views are so uneducated and he refuses to do any of his own research. So I thought we had a truce of sorts. But then he started up again recently. 🙁

      1. Same situation here. I told a long term friend that we cannot talk about Trump going forward.
I told him he was delusional to think one person could be as bad as he thinks Trump is.
He was put out a bit and when he came to town we had beers and some laughs.
Before he left he insisted I should get psychiatric help.
Haven’t talked to him or texted him since he left for his 6 months in Mexico.

      2. Robert. The only thing that bothers me about that video clip you sent him is that Megyn’s guest repeatedly used the word “shipwreck”. That’s been the language seized on by the left to somehow paint these drug couriers as innocent “mariners”. They’re not.

But Hegseth’s explanation was clear, precise, logical … and moral. What boggles my mind is that TDS sufferers can listen to that very transparent explanation… and come away with more hate.

        1. Yet, if it were the Obama or Biden Administration that did the exact same thing, it would be A-Okay. Yes, these walking zombies would showcase a pile of sh*t if it displayed the Demoncr@p banner.

  3. “I don’t have time to distinguish between the unfortunate and the incompetent” – US Air Force General Curtis LeMay. He’s also frequently quoted with, “If you kill enough of them, they stop fighting’. Both can be applied to the discussion of the 91% reduction in successful drug deliveries by narco-terrorists from Venezuela. As for Pete, he can tell reporters, “I got your second strike right here, bitches.”

  4. I’ve managed to weed out those with “TDS” in my life and I’m better for it.
Once you realize that something isn’t quite right upstairs in the head it becomes clear they’re really not interested in your opinion. They’re like Jehovah Witness without the pamphlets.
Almost forgot – it’s December and you know what that means…Canadians in my area who bought into last year’s boycott because “Trump is arresting Canadians and housing them in ICE centres” are now casting their eyes South in search of a rookery to wait out the winter.
    I guess it’s ok now.
    Hypocrites.

  5. Scott Adams suggests that the best way to deal with friends who have TDS is to focus on one issue – a good one is the ‘Trump called neo-Nazis fine people.’

This hoax is thoroughly debunked on the net, yet remains in circulation through Biden, Obama, etc. Can you get your friend to look? If so, you can suggest another hoax – maybe ‘Russia Russia, Russia.’

    Not easy work!

    1. Why bother, those alleged friends are not worth your time. They are defective humans and must be ignored. You may mount a brilliant campaign to enlighten them, but they will refuse listen and they will call you horrible names being the jejune twats that they are,

    2. I have a simpler method. I’m a self-incorporated consultant and I work for US software firms improving their delivery times, which is worth a lot of money.

Whenever my friends start wanking on about the evil Americans, I remind them that I chose to build contacts, friends and a career history in the US market because their economy was so much stronger than ours. When they start arguing about “elbows up” and “but muh tariffs”, I remind them that I make a quarter million dollars a year and they don’t.

  6. Much of this psyop depends upon civilians not understanding the chain of command — Hegseth wouldn’t be part of the chain of command that ordered a double tap.
Secondly, it depends upon civilians not understanding the rules of engagement for unlawful combatants/underprivileged belligerents, which is what these drug runners are, as outlined by the Geneva Convention — it’s incredibly vague, but second strikes are not illegal; let’s just leave it at that. Commanders at the tactical level are given latitude with regards to risk assessment for their own personnel vs. humane treatment of belligerents.
Thirdly, it depends upon most civilians not understanding the nature of war, or not wanting to because it makes the poor dears queasy: “that’s not who we are!” No darlings, that is very much who we are — many screaming about this seem to have no problems watching essentially snuff films that do at the very least step up to the Geneva Conventions on lawful combatants and their treatment and spit in said rules’ eye. The hypocrisy is astounding but predictable.

Long of the short: we’re going to keep killing them.

    1. Oh, and by the way…
Did anyone notice the timing of this latest ‘most horrid thing evah!!!!(TM’? What news came out of Ukraine around the same time?

For the love of our god, Moloch, please look over here and not over there! (and when you look over here and not there, please wear these special, virtue tinged glasses that we’ve provided)

      1. YUP ! the story of the 100’s of millions in Ukrainian fraud, disappeared after about 6hrs.
I don’t think our local/provincial radio station(that people somehow still think is conservative) mentioned it once, and then it was the weekend, and lost with all the other stories “they” could generate.
I imagine a three letter agency planted the boat story in the WP, just to push Ukraine fraud out of the weekend news cycle.

        1. Perhaps the agency has letters as well as numbers; perhaps there are multiple agencies — and they don’t have the letters most people typically think of because they aren’t as front and center in people’s brains (and that has been part of their effectiveness).

          Nonetheless, good catch Carl.

  7. People like to virtue signal and don’t want to put in time and effort to self-educate.

Their news media tell them what the current societal concerns are. A person will wear these views to be readily identified as someone who cares deeply about others, i.e. a good person. If you disagree with these views, you have to be viewed as a bad person (not just someone with different views). Because people like this don’t want to be perceived as bad, they’ll do stupid things like vote to destroy a country just so their virtue signals are clear.
