The Part I Like Best

About harm reduction is the way Street Outreach programs identify addiction-impacted persons in crisis and redirects them away from chemical self-actualization.

Oh well. Cheaper than MAID, I suppose. (Is it cheaper than MAID?)

  1. Here’s a statistic to chew on:

In 2023, Vancouver firefighters were projected to attend 9,000 drug overdose calls.

      1. While EMS were busy administering naloxone to the same patient for the umpteenth time, real emergency victims were being neglected.

  2. I frequently see young folk doing the “fentanyl fold” here in Kelowna. Some are distressingly young.
It is very sad to see, and I despise the BC government’s “harm reduction” shite. Bonny Henry, Adrian Dix, Horgan. Thanks, dix.
Kelowna spent millions to repurpose the old rail line into a “rail trail” for shiny bicycle people to enjoy, but there is a rail trail tent city that mars the damn ride.
Are you happy yet, you stupid NDP voting, lefty, spandexed, designer biked, skinny latte drinking, vegan, pronouned, shiny peoplekind jerkwits?
    Fook. I need a drink.

  3. Safe injection sites were never intended to curtail drug use.
Just ask Barry and Honey Sherman why it’s such a lucrative market.

  4. I guess “InSite” did better in focus group testing than the more honest “Needles-for-Junkies” name.

  5. “(Is it cheaper than MAID?)”

It depends on how many innocent bystanders they put in the hospital on their way to shuffling off their mortal coil. And on how much private property they destroy.

MAID might be a bargain, looking at your average druggie encampment. Pitching them in jail for three hots and a cot until they straighten up would be way cheaper, I’m thinking. As long as the “jail” isn’t a bloody great fortress made of gold bars, the way they usually do things.

  6. “If you give me the foil and crack pipe to do the drugs, you may as well give me a bullet and gun to kill myself”
That is what a recovered addict told me in British Columbia.
The next day I walked up to a vending machine that dispenses pipes and paraphernalia for drugs like fentanyl.
I used it myself to see how easy it was.
    No ID. No questions.
    A toddler could use it.
    There are no barriers anymore.
Instead of helping addicts recover, the government is promoting and normalizing lethal drug use.
    This has to stop.”

If the LiberalNDP axis powers have a defining policy theme “chemical self-actualization is it.
