L – According to Wikipedia’s A.I., the Cdn Coastguard are not issued any weapons, do not have any law enforcement authority, and are not equipped for armed conflict. Not even a Fox40 whistle is listed. Search and Rescue, Marine research et al and a little ice breaking seems to be their tasks.
So, if the drug cartels are smuggling humans, drugs, guns or even illegally fishing within Canadian fishing territory. If they were doing it in a Haida War Canoe or larger vessel. Then its orders are to retreat to the actual coast. How they get to have the word “guard” in their name…must just be an anachronism. I predict it soon to be changed to Coastal Feelings Guard.
On the other hand U.S. Coast Guard are issued Glock pistols, M-4 rifles, Mk II sniper rifles, Remington 870s, FN240 (30cal.)machine gun and a 62mm naval canon. Which I’d guess could sink a ship, if required.

When tasked with impossible missions,supplied with none of the required weapons,the proper plan is that of “Brave Sir Robin”.

These people have served us well for years,now the Liberals do this BS to them,expect fewer competent seamen and many more brown-nosers in the years to come.
