  1. gonna barge ahead anyways. thus PROVING they didnt *really* need the money?
aka ‘do the math’ and flush all the press vitriol while yer at it.

  2. Got what I voted for again. The country is clearly broke, but the Democrats continued to pour hundreds of billions of dollars down this and many other green scheme rat holes when they were in power, paying off their bundlers, and getting kickbacks in one way or another. It’s clearly criminal and needs to be investigated.

    1. Remember, Crim old chap, money can be created but it is rarely destroyed. That money doesn’t go to waste, it goes to bank accounts. This is true of all government “investments”, subsidies and boondoggles.

  3. I have no problem with EV batteries and vehicles. IF….manufacturers wanna build them on their own dime and compete in a free market, and if people wanna buy them with their own money – no subsidies and no mandates.
Still bad for the environment, roads, and infrastructure, but if it is their choice, go ahead.
But no worries – probably not gonna happen much.
Wish we had somebody in Canada who would do what Trump is doing – dismantle the pork barreling and gov’t spending on pet projects.
And My Gawd….will somebody please explain to the LIV’s and media in Canada (but I repeat myself) that gov’t “investment” is simply gov’t reckless spending under a slightly different label?

    1. The Frightful Prospect of Accountability.
Trump has a dramatically untraditional view of government economics, having recently captured a stake in several commercial ventures for the US. The attendant caterwauling and criticism from the blued and tattooed has made it clear the simpletons among us cannot imagine a world without ever-increasing taxation, penury and government waste.

  4. Grants: extortion of funds from those with no political influence to those who have it.

  5. Liberal Elbow Flapper Logic:

Trump signs a bunch of new trade deals.
    Canada signs none.

Many countries cut deals with Trump, but not Canada.
Canada can’t cut a deal with Trump and they can’t cut new trade deals with the countries that Trump did.
Liberals conclude that this is Trump’s fault, not Carney’s fault.

  6. “But two companies have vowed to push forward anyway.”

Well good. That’s the way it’s supposed to work. If you can’t make it without government propping you up with taxpayer’s money, it was not a viable business in the first place. And if you succeed without subsidies, well then you didn’t need them at all and should return all the money.
