   1. OECD is a membership run organization of 38 countries, not so much an overview of everywhere though they “work with” about 100 countries, and India China Russia are not members.

   Interesting to note that the US is in the middle of the pack on a per-capita basis as I believe they are the largest of the group by population. Would be curious to see what the non-per-capita number would be.

8. Don’t worry, Carney has an economics background and he played hockey. He was governor of two central banks and was an economic advisor to the prime minister of Canada. 17. Keep in mind that when a country takes a downwards tumble in economic output, it typically roars back into a recovery when everyone newly unemployed, finds a job, and becomes productive again.

    The OECD is saying that we should expect only a marginal, scarcely noticeable recovery within this decade, with additional taxes being levied, and tightening of controls on the means of production, and deep dissatisfaction within the citizenry and a rapidly deteriorating health services sector.
    That nation right next to Canada offers lower taxes, fewer regulations, and promises a loosening of regulations across the board.

    “It’s probably nothing” ? oh yes, that’s the recovery, which is probably a nothing…

20. Just want to point out that GDP can grow 100% if the last year GDP was 100 million.
    Understand that its simplistic, though it is to point out that countries that had a small GDP can claim larger percentage from year to year.
    Not so with larger economies.
