Here in the SF Bay Area … we had a WAR against AAPI hate aka a WAR against white haters of Asian people. Unh huh. Why? Because Trump mocked the COVID virus as the Chyyynahhhh Virus. Hence white people are assaulting Asians.
Suddenly our local news stations started broadcasting every story of assault against Asian people. But a funny thing happened … there wasn’t a single white person harming Asian people. Nope. It was ALL black people, and or mental-patient homeless derelicts.
So, Trump’s dogwhistle was only calling black and derelict homeless to attack Asians. Yeah … the anti-Trump AAPI hate nonsense went away pretty quick.
I think the aim of his bizarre response to being questioned is to make the questioner appear to be sick, unstable, mentally ill etc vs what is actually going on, avoiding the actual question.
It’s gross but he’s learning from our political class that it’s acceptable because they do the exact same thing.
