But I disagree with Nolte claiming most of the blame is born by the Democrats. In recent years, I’ve seen many on the right adopt the same tactics that they despise in the left, with the excuse that they would be naive not to do so. But why? What does it constructively achieve, except to satisfy a desire to see our opponents suffer for disagreeing with us?
Politics is supposed to be about improving society. Far too often, it’s a giant pissing match where the main aim seems to be to punish our opponents.

At any rate, the crime of treason is defined in Sections 46(1) and (2) of the Criminal Code, and what you describe does not match that definition. Treason is either attacking the monarch or aiding and abetting an enemy.

I love all the Democrats/liberals trying so desperately to call for “unity” and “civility” now that they themselves are in the crosshairs, and not the Republicans/conservatives. When they staged two fake impeachments despite being advised by their lawyers that they had no grounds for them and three criminal cases despite again being advised by lawyers that they had no cases, they did so ILLEGALLY. What the Republicans are doing now is holding them to account for all those actions. LEGALLY.
What exactly is the problem with that? They are not improperly and illegally “weaponizing” the justice system like the Democrats did by twisting and contorting the law almost to the breaking point. They are using it properly, as it was intended to be used: to achieve justice by punishing those who have violated the law. If the people charged are innocent, they will have nothing to worry about, right?
