  1. Quasi Public Utilities; Verizon, AT&T and all who use their cell towers need to be driven out of business by a cheaper, better, competitor. They gouge the cell phone public with unsustainable rates. We are captive consumers … which is NOT how free market capitalism is supposed to work.

    1. sadly k, been dat way in Canduh since the vedddy peeginink.
if we believe the hype Mr Bell invented the thing here, that dinn mattuh
as to rates. for looooongest time (coinciding with a certain monopoly) among highest rate innada WOILD.

    2. Add Bell to your list. No competitors out this way, service range sucks for Rogers, Eastlink, Telus, etc

    3. Well, you don’t want to exchange one monopoly for another.
Satellite constellations are prone to their own hazards too.
Space junk. Orbital decay. Replacement. Solar storms.
More competition though, is a good thing.
I’m getting a good deal at $35/mo for a Can/US/Mex unlimited package, with 75 Gb. Can’t complain. I stream tunes to my hearts content and never use half the cap. What more do you want?

  2. I am looking forward to megabit satellite to my phone. That’ll be -sweet-.

I will pay -more- for that just to see that Rogers and Telus don’t get my money. Because f- those guys.
