In summary – In a review of Superchargers in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, rates vary from as low as $0.19 per minute for 0-60kW, up to $1.65 per minute for 180-250kW Supercharging speeds.
And that means ….. and one Tesla Model 3 owner shared this receipt of two almost identical charging sessions at the Orangeville Supercharger. Before the price change, a 25 minute session cost $9.85. Today, a 24 minute session cost $16.26, or nearly 70% more.
Ur results may vary.
The per minute thing is just nuts. You’re not getting a specific volume of energy, espeiciallly as charging rates vary during the charge. If there’s one things the feds should do is implement standardized rates, just like inspections of fuel pumps. You get what you pay for. But on fast chargers, does my minute get me X amount or Y amount of electrons? Or does it vary (it does). But my understanding is using a Tesla supercharger is definitely the fastest, but expect to spend as much or more as you would for an equivalent gasoline fuel up of a similar vehicle. EVs are cheap to recharge at home, not so much on the road.
It costs $0.30/kWh to charge your EV in the wee morning hours. It would otherwise cost you $0.43/kWh (or more) to charge in the wee morning hours if not for the fact that all your rate-paying neighbors are subsidizing your electricity at 31% discounted rates.
It’s almost as if EV drivers get to pay for electricity priced in $Cad. … hahahahaha ha ha aha
Just WAIT until the free ride government and fellow rate payer subsidies come to an end … and you are paying the equivalent of $7.00/gal. in electric rates to “fill” your EV. The free ride will end suddenly when EVERYONE is forced to drive an EV. Suddenly.

Jaguar Land Rover (the people who supply Two Tier Kier Starmer with his armoured car) have said they cannot make an EV version, so our master will have to get by with the existing ICE model. Unlike everyone else who will have to go EV……….

The big car companies are simply not going to want to make cars for the Canadian market given that the EV mandates in the US are dead. At the same time the liberals if left in power will not want to back off, so what happens? Does Ford withdraw from the Canadian market or do we import cheap Chinese Evies and sell them alongside real vehicles in normal dealerships?
