Mixed Messaging

Our PM seems to expect reality to bend in order to accommodate his contradictions. Good luck with that.

Carney revealed that “austerity” was on the menu for his government’s first budget this fall while speaking to reporters before chairing a two-day cabinet retreat in Toronto.

“It’s an austerity and investment budget at the same time, and that’s possible if we are disciplined,” Carney said in French. “We can do both, and we will do both.”

    1. L – “Carney is a temporary foreign worker.” That’s good enough to be a meme. Perhaps, the one that sinks Mark Carney’s pirate ship, the W.E.F. registered in Shanghai.

  1. FILTHY LIBERALS have no clue what Austerity is. They think it’s something that they push onto others.
Carney is over 93% invested in the US.

  2. Ah yes.
PM Doolittle was and always will be an Ottawa senior bureaucrat that failed his way to the top.
    Nothing is his fault.
The world is the way that he sees it.
Rail line blockades and burning churches in flyover country are understandable, but a semi illegally parked inside the six blocks of Parliament Hill is an insurrection.
A journalist asking an awkward question is criminally investigated, but interfering in a criminal prosecution of SNC Lavilan is part of doing business.
Billions can be wasted on the failing EV market but the oil and gas sector can wither and die claiming no business case because it goes against net zero.
Canola farms can go under in Saskatchewan due to Chinese tariffs, but supply management of dairy will continue to protect the spoiled child of confederation.
So he thinks the government can spend more and at the same time cut spending.
I can’t decide if it’s cognitive dissonance or plausible denial, or a combination of both.

    1. Carney performs government fusterclucks at a far greater rate of efficiency than Justin could ever manage. Plus when Carnal bends us over he at least uses some lube 😉

  3. The media told us that Christia Freeland was a genius too. Given the actions of these clowns I would surprised if any of them have an IQ over 100. But they’re getting rich off taxpayers, so they got that going for them.

  4. Their “investment” with borrowed money, our austerity.
They plan to hide their obscene deficits, pretending borrowing isn’t debt but “capital cost” hidden from scrutiny.

    1. That^^^ the Carnholer will transfer operating funds, spent on operations to a capital fund and capitalize them, reporting a lower deficit. Reporters, being both on the take and innumerate will report it as a reduced deficit, and the average Canadian sheep will buy it, because they are rock, hard stupid, and because they need to. The bond market however, will not.

  5. His budget will be an oxymoron written by the oxymoronic Champagne as approved by that oxymoronic PM we have in Snidely Whiplash. This is straight out of his oxymoronic lexicon as in: “Well, we will just have to do more with less” Impossible. It is illusion to try to do more with less. Canada will attempt to have a champagne budget but will get a beer belly aftertaste instead. Bitter! Or two farts to the wind.

  6. To get away with such contradictory prose, the Carney is confident that he is the smartest man in the room and if its full of his reporters, he’s right.

  7. Me thinks you all missed it.
    Maybe over thinking Liberal Speak.

    Austerity for the West.
    Greater spending by the rest.

Where the citizens dared to vote conservative,it will be “Sorry boys,we are cutting spending”.
But every tax ,fee and extortion will be increased.
And where Liberals run free,”Happy Daze are here again”.
As the looters reward themselves..once again.

Exiting this Kleptocracy is our only hope.
Although I find myself strangely attracted to the politics of Retribution..
