2025 Fundraiser Followup

To our readers and blog authors — your support of SDA has been outstanding through the years, and 2025 is no exception.  I spent last evening sending notes to all who contributed, but a handful of those bounced back — so I’m here this morning to thank you all again, and let those whom I may have missed know that we truly appreciate the support.

While I could monetize the site with ads and pop-ups, I prefer the voluntary funding model because it preserves our editorial independence and keeps your reading experience free of that particular annoyance.

As we push well past our 20th year, you can trust that SDA endures because we have something  to say – not because we’re working a grift or pushing narratives on behalf of an undisclosed funding source. It’s gratifying to know so many of you appreciate what we do here. Thank you all, as always!

  1. Whoops! It slipped my mind over these last couple of days.

Error corrected, donation made. Thanks, Kate!

    1. “My bank says the operation is still pending.”

Mine just vanished with no acknowledgement in the wee hours of Wednesday morning (got up early to catch a 5:15 AM ferry to Nanaimo and probably screwed it up by being half asleep)…

Just sent it again, and this time got a proper confirmation number which I don’t remember getting last time.

    1. Ditto. And let me add that having been a massive devotee’ of the News aggregation site The Drudge Report (before it went DARK) … I consistently find the posts here, by all the posters … to have more than adequately provided the ESSENTIAL and relevant news stories of the day. It’s what keeps me coming back … and a welcome platform for me to spill my guts. Thank you all.

  2. Hi Kate

I’ve had some difficulty sending you money electronically, but I may have finally succeeded. I sent it on Zelle through my bank. The payment went through, but the bank sent a message that there is something you need to do to receive the payment. Presumably, they will explain. Thanks for all you do.

    1. Thanks Cletus, but we can’t do Zelle in Canada – you’re not the first who tried, but when I went to sign up, no Canadian banks are listed.

Yeah, about that . . . how does one get in on that without becoming a Liberal?
