… “the biggest surprise is how much leverage America has had all these years that we never used”
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkZTMxFuziA&t=185s

“never used” because of successful Soviet (communist march thru institutions) world-wide anti-American propaganda which continues to this day.

    Tariffs against the US were encouraged by the US as part of a mutual agreement after WWII;
the other side of that agreement was all those nations should merely, but fully, resist communism.

The US (through 1991) lived up to their side of the bargain.
    The other nations did not.

  2. This is grossly optimistic. These “deals” are according to the Trump administration, but many of the countries or groups of countries deny the details. Further, many of these are framework agreements, meaning they’re outlines of possible agreements. Until we see the final signed agreements, Americans should hold off of celebrations.

Further, having to pay more for foreign imports isn’t much of a reward. In total, Trump’s tariffs as described by him will represent one of the biggest tax increases in American history, even allowing for nominal GDP.

    1. The countries or groups of countries that deny the details are concerned they will be exposed for getting their ass kicked. Funny how you say these deals are according to the Trump administration but the other country denials must be taken at face vale.

      1. Well now, it’s evident that Marmot only says this because he’s mentally ill, and yet sometime true words are spoken through false teeth. This particular struggle is being fought largely on fields of bullshit, and we can admire the intensity of the slinging and yet hold out for something like a serious result on which we could base some worthwhile conclusions. At this point, assuming a result is a mug’s game. And that’s not for me. I’m a little teacup!

      2. No, I used the words “as described by him”, meaning the statement is conditional. I’m not assuming anything.

        1. Ys, that’s why I’m being so nice to you. This is the most sensible you’ve been in weeks. I want to encourage you. It’s what we call “positive reinforcement”. Hold on, perhaps I can find some nice rotting vetch that you can chomp on…

    2. Nothing … NOTHING … in my regular basket of; food, fuel, Amazon crap, building materials have gone up in price. Nada. No … the PRICE I’m paying all came in under Janet Yellen’s ‘transitory’ inflation. Yeah that inflation transited right into my bank account … as in cratered my disposable income.

Is Yellen DEAD yet? I just want to sit Shiva for her and stuff.

      1. First, I’m skeptical you have memorized the price of everything.

Second, much US food is either produced nationally or from untariffed sources in Mexico and Canada.

Third, Trump delayed and then delayed some more most of his tariffs, giving importers plenty of time to stock up inventories before tariffs were imposed. The full effect will take half a year or more to be felt as those inventories dwindle.

        1. As my Dip investments keep going up up up … I just laugh in your face. You’re like every late night doom and gloom prognosticator selling me some garbage annuity … WARNING me that the stock market is about to CRASH! The entire economy is about to CRASH! Any minute now … any minute now!!!! Dum dum, de dum, dum, dum …

Great … when it does … I’ll have another great Dip to buy.

          1. PS … I do ALL the shopping … for every thing in my household … as my wife HATES shopping. Yeah, my low maintenance wife is THE BEST! So yeah, I know EXACTLY what prices are … and have been … for everything I buy. A penny saved is a penny earned is my motto.

  3. Canada is the lazy entitled 40 year old who has been sleeping on Daddy America’s couch for his entire existence. He has been eating from his fridge, drinking his beer, driving his car, using his security, and has been given a generous if undeserved allowance to boot. Those days are over.

Canada needs to get a job. Canada will not like this and it will piss and moan, but at the end of the day it will get a job. The good news is that Daddy America is holding a plum position open at Daddy America’s company for Canada. There is a caveat though.

Canada will have to sign an employment contract. Because of Canada’s familial connection with Daddy America, this position is yours if you sign the contract. Canada will have to pull its own weight once the contract is signed and that is non-negotiable.

The alternative is a low-paying minimum wage, no benefits job at a Chinese uranium mine in Elliot Lake possibly waiting for you. Mind you there will be 10,000 East Indians, Chinese communists, and of course thousands of Pakistani Muslim retards vying for the exact same limited positions.

So make your very easy choices wisely, cut out the whining and crying, and govern yourself accordingly.

    That is all, carry on.

    1. Well not on Daddy America’s couch for his entire existence, but certainly from the days of Pierre Trudeau.

  4. Marx Carnage on X/Twitter last week:
“In the face of a changing global trade landscape, Prime Minister Carney announced a series of new measures to help the softwood lumber industry transform and remain competitive”
    https://x.com/CanadianPM/status/1952821953015754853

3 days later at the Canadian state media corp:
“U.S. increases duties on Canadian softwood lumber, bringing total to more than 35%”
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/canada-softwood-penalties-1.7604876

Good job weirdo…. no updates on his page from 8 August 2025
I saw an X/Twitter post from yesterday which said Marx Carnage was going to be taking the week off to think about the way forward…
    lol..

    1. The Lieberals typical solve for any problem is throw money at it. The US took this money toss for the lumber industry as an increased subsidy and raised the countervailing duty. In typical Lieberal fashion, Plan B will be throw more money.

  5. Trump’s doing a far better job for his country than Karl Marx Carnage.
$3.25 TRILLION in secured investments by various sources. Not by the taxpayer.
Meanwhile, starving rats approve of mass subsidization of buggy whip factories in Canaderp. Because, gotta save the buggywhips.
Did you buy your EV to save the industry, rodent? Of course not.
This is not going to end well. The longer the morons scuffle, name call, wail, piss and moan, snivel, mope, etc, the worse the damage to Canada, specifically Morontariowe and Queerbec most of all. Interesting to watch Carnage and Thug take this strategy, the worst possible thing they could do. Who advises them, spoiled brats who get their way by being obnoxious to their parents?
Hint to all the Chicken Dancers.
    Trump.
    Doesn’t.
    Care.
You can piss and moan until every last factory is shut down, and he still won’t care. He’s representing the US, not the socialists of Canada.
Those clot shots truly caused permanent brain damage to the cognitive abilities of the sheeple.

  6. Trump will have no tariff wins. Trump only has authority to set tariffs in emergencies. The Supreme Court will determine that a Trump snit is not an emergency. Also, new treaties require the vote of 2/3 of the Senate. Good luck convincing Democrats to go along with Trump’s delusions. It’s all about nothing.

    1. Trump has already had tariff wins. In fact, so much so that in June, the US federal government actually had a surplus. And under the Constitution, I don’t think the Supreme Court is the determinant of emergency.

    2. We have an emergency act right now — and who knows? Perhaps SCOTUS will be called in and will uphold said emergency act.
By the way, we don’t need to keep the emergency act or any extreme tariffs in place forever, just long enough.

      So…whose going to buckle first?
      Have a nice day.

    1. Trump has had 8 months to convince Congress to buy in and has done no such thing. Congress has elected not to change tariffs for an 8 month period or even to pass legislation allowing Trump to negotiate. Their indifference is resounding in exercising their democratically sanctioned authority.

  7. Filled my truck for less than $100 (US) for first time, in Taxachusetts no less. $2.939/gal.
    Winning.

  8. Hypothesis.

Tariffs on all imported goods, and a sales tax when buying anything, cancels out the need for income tax…..

Then a person has a choice on what and when to pay tax, by choosing what and when to by anything. Not being stolen as you earn it.
