In typically weasel word legal speak, the ruling says that there can be aboriginal title and private land on the same ground and the Crown must resolve it which means that the tax payers have to compensate the grifters. If the robed shysters had ruled that aboriginal title was final, then they would have just ruled themselves out of a job as there would be no BC nor Canada because there was no legitimacy of Crown sovereignty. This is the end game of the grievance industry – White-pimp judges declaring the taxpayer-paid Chiefs as our new landlords.

    1. Well, while the decision is typical stupidity, BC is in a very precarious position because it is not covered by treaty. The rest of Canada is and so the BC decision doesn’t cover the rest of the country. But, if the idiot judges declare it to be so, this country will be finished because the non-natives simply won’t put up with it.

  5. Here’s MY considered legal opinion … “to the victors go the spoils”. “Might DOES make right”. The primitive peoples with Stone Age implements, lacking written language … LOST … to to an advanced civilization. Get over it.

    But in Canada’s current Marxist vogue … everything and everyone in society is divided between “victims and oppressors”. And the “victims” are everywhere. The current culture and civilization is the universal “oppressor”. Note the sentence above the last highlighted passage which speaks of “Reconciliation”. Reconciliation is all well and good … but there can be NO reconciliation without TRUTH.

    The truth is, the PRIMITIVE people living in thousands of warring tribes had no laws or rules of land ownership other than what they TOOK from neighboring tribes. THAT is the “legal standard” of the FN’s … all thousands of the FN’s. “To the victors go the spoils” … meaning their land, their women, and ALL the vanquished Tribe’s possessions.

    Sorry natives, but you LOST to an advanced culture and civilization. THAT civilization … OUR civilization … has been far more benevolent to the vanquished than their fellow Tribes ever were. We have treated the FN’s with unheard of care and deference. But they’ve squandered the benevolence shown to them. They cling to their primitive ways and refuse to assimilate …except when receiving FREE snow machines, pickup trucks, and big screens.

    Why do you think nations spend so much of their treasure on National DEFENSE? Well, all except ‘post-National’ … devolved countries, like Canada. It’s because the world is full of predatory humans and Tribal units who would happily crush you and take everything you own. What these subversives don’t understand is that the next superior nation (Communist China?) who conquer our suicidal society … won’t be as benevolent as the Judeo-Christian culture who conquered the FN’s.

  7. The First Nations land claims cover 110 to 120 percent of BC. Land ownership is a foreign concept to them.

    They had 10,000 years to do something with the land’s resources. They developed nothing. Left alone, they’d still be using stone tools.

    By accepting, and using, metal tools, guns, boats, pickup trucks, electricity, etc. they’ve effectively ceded their land claims.

  10. There was no aboriginal title. The way they operated was the biggest badass owned the land. Whitey took over the land using the same mechanism Indians used for 10,000 years, the right of conquest. That is the same reason every border in the world exists.

  13. I’m right into this confusion and uncertain on how to process it. Still lot’s of farmers here (these are mostly Punjabi, but not me), hundreds of thousand of private land owners (and as someone stated above, 50%+ Chinese of one variety or another, again not representative of me). Should have stayed in QC and get AB money (which is /sarc). This place is going to hell very fast. It looks like it’s time to liquidate.
