  1. Canadians can only hope for a Canadian politician to take the same kind of measure to protect Conservatives in this country.

    1. Jeez. I’ll be happy as hell if Trump ponds the Yank branches of Canada’s big 5 for their ovine kow-towing to turdo.

Kick them out, Donald. They’re part of the Liberal Canuckistan virus. They have no place in The Land of The Free.

    1. I still think Eva Chipiuk’s account was terminated solely based on her continuous use of said account to purchase cryptocurrency. She admits as much. The kneejerk response to that is to suggest that she can buy whatever she wants. It’s her money. At the same time, however, a bank has to consider (sometimes mandated to) regulatory uncertainty, and potential security risks/ fraud/ money laundering. There is also the fact that crypto competes against their own industry without the same regulatory requirements such as the FDIC.

      1. it should NOT be subject to speculation. it should be SPELLED OUT the rationale to debank AND a process to quickly appeal. but, that wont happen in the sheep farm called Canaduh

      2. It is my experience with the RBC that any time I try to purchase some crypto my transfer is declined and I have to call the RBC Fraud Squad, wait on hold for 20-25 minutes, only to get a lecture on scams and how RBC is locking my account for my own protection. They have never once not processed my transfer, when I demand such, but they are trying to make it so inconvenient that I will stop.
RBC has become far to authoritative in their over reach, into what is none of their business. They are likely getting their marching orders from the head Elbows Up WEF’er.

      3. That would be reasonable speculation if that was the only time Ms Chipiuk had had services terminated or her accounts frozen by Canadian banks. The timing of the most recent action by her bank (coinciding with her commentary on Tamara Lich’s sentencing hearing) also makes it highly suspect.

      4. That RBC would invoke “risk” as in fraud or money laundering is rather specious. Crypto is 100% legal and the particular crypto broker she used – Shakepay – is regulated and monitored. At the bottom of Shakepay’s website page: ” FINTRAC #M17065696 Shakepay is a member of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) and is registered as an Investment Dealer with the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) and the securities regulatory authorities in all Canadian provinces and territories. ” RBC is playing games, the only question is what game. My guess is that since the Convoy, she’s been on a bank watchlist so any slight deviation from absolutely ordinary transaction behaviour leads RBC to decide she’s too troublesome.

    1. I would say it’ll only happen if #TheDonald does it. Let him lean on them and bend their bottom line for them, they’ll cave. Otherwise? No. The CPC are not going to bring the Big 5 to heel. No guts, no glory.

After all, it took the Americans to blow the whistle on TD, right?

  2. Whereas in Canada, if a non-woke person is debanked, it is cheered on by the insane Leftists and the legacy media.

  3. a little birdie told me there are folks out here that if they got debanked, it may induce them to inflict enormous inconvenience a la ‘well if l cant have it no one can’ and for the sake of a $15 tube of shoe goop, jam the stuff into every RBC ATM they could find.
not that l am or would ever endorse such, buuuut, gotta admit it would be immediately effective and as usual ‘send a message’ but not that lm suggesting anything . . . .

and no, l did not drive up and down the QEW around 1990 taking a pair of bolt cutters to every phone booth l could find furious at the callousness and abject greed Bell may have subjected me to after requesting the technician add, oh, about a foot extra phone line so it would sit proper on the end table.
came the response “extra monthly fee” (“fee fie foe fum fee”?)

  4. tonite’s comic relief; speaking of banks, l just had the worst nightmare ever,
standing in front of the ATM l couldnt remember my 85 digit PIN number . . . .
