1) You canceled our permit for a peaceful outdoor worship gather for no reason.
2) You threatened a CHURCH on private property to not have church.
3) You send a battalion of police to intimidate us.
4) Antifa throws 2 smoke bombs at my head inside the church – you do nothing!
5) Now you want fine the church for doing what the church does – WORSHIP.

Every Canadian should be embarrassed/concerned with this. No bigger scandal in Canada.

  2. Here in the States … Churches are approved with “Special Use Permits”. That allows for a high occupancy use … such as buildings that hold 300-500 people to be located in a single family neighborhood (where those still exist). Why? Because “Special Uses” such as churches, swim clubs, baseball fields, schools, etc. are compatible uses for residential neighborhoods (or at least they used to be). It is understood that church services and special events will be held at these churches and that large groups will gather. They don’t need additional permits to hold special events so long as they don’t exceed the occupancies already approved by their underlying use permit.

    This permit demand sounds legally bogus. It sounds politically punitive. It sounds like Maoist Communist China. Chinada has become a basic dictatorship.

    And yes … the WAR on Christianity is coming full bloom.

    I don’t expect anyone in Canada to get anywhere with telling gov’t in Canada that they are wrong. They just don’t care, witness the recent EV mandate still in effect.

      1. This will probably get me in hot water with a lot of the trad Christians here, but there’s a reason I haven’t gone to church anywhere since I was dragged there as a teen, and this, right here, is the reason. I saw it all the way back then, and I’m still seeing it now.

        Am I reading anywhere that the big denominations are camping on Montreal mayor’s doorstep over this? Did I hear even of a strongly worded letter from the Bishop of Quebec, either the Anglican one or the Catholic one? No, I did not hear that. I have heard -nothing- from those guys. Crickets.

        And I heard nothing from them during Covid. They rolled over like trained seals. All of them.

        So no. I do not go to those churches, because they do not appear to have any religious convictions whatsoever. They are focused on their funding and their public relations, just like McDonald’s is. They’ve become corporations that sell daycare to the middle class and hall rentals to Tai Chi and yoga. Which are not Christian things, although I am a big fan of both.

        I expect McDonald’s to be that way,they sell burgers. I expect more from a church. Sorry, that’s just how it is.

        1. Don’t be misled into trusting any church for humble truth and spiritual guidance. Christ calls us sinners to repent and receive salvation from Him. The church is made up of sinful (missing God’s standard) people. Praise the Lord when you find a person who admits this and lives in that humility.
          There are zealous church congregations that are quite opposed to Sean Feucht because his music/performance doesn’t match their strongly held views. I might prefer Alice Cooper, but I’ll worship with Feucht any day because he understands God’s salvation and power.

Elsewhere, the Premier has said he wants to ban all public prayer, which would go a step further than the UK, where a mother was arrested for the crime of praying to close to an abortion clinic.         1. There are generally laws prohibiting the interruption of religious services, for “any” religious service in their designated building. I don’t know if this transfers to those who hold religious services in public or on public land (as the upcoming service on the AB legislative lands will be)
          Perhaps if the police go into the building (in Montreal) with the mindset that whoever is in there is preaching or singing without a permit, this eases their minds to do what the mayor instructs them to do.

          But, I think this is covered in section 2B of our near garbage constitution, not that it matters.

          On Sean Feuche’s X/Twitter feed he posted in January, of him meeting with and sharing a hug with the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. They seemed friendly. It’s not like Sean is an outsider in the US. He knows some folks, the leadership of the USA holds freedoms above almost anything else, and the gov’t of this land is looking at not having a free trade deal for the vast majority of their produced goods, while the only way Canada exports seems to be by discounting their goods with a cut rate dollar.
          A 35% tariff is going to negate that advantage… Is eastern Canada going to export their goods to the EU?
