  1. Don’t get me started on chilly women in the workplace. Most of them won’t let me grab them by their Kitties … what the hell is wrong with them? Do I have to $$$pay them like P.Diddy?

  2. Talking about women and thermostats is fraught with danger, danger of grievous bodily harm.

I was doing some consulting work in a plant and was given a desk and work area next to the thermostat. Maybe 50 women and a few men worked in the office. All day women were sneaking up and raising or lowering the temperature even though the office manager issued threats equal to death for such activity. I think the problem with people and thermostats is they can’t raise the temperature 1/2 a degree or one degree and wait for results. As a young man I could tolerate a wide range of temperature with no notice. I’m sure thermostats in big offices are secure nowadays.

    1. Age matters.
I used to be able to handle anything from 0 to 100F.
Its 88 and sunny today. Absolutely beautiful. and I’m watching it out the window with the AC blasting.

  3. Women generally have poorer circulation than men and as a result feel colder. Although there are some women who will complain about being too warm, they are by far in the minority.

I have had many dress shirts ruined by sweat stains because of women who crank up the heat in the office. And due to years of inflation, office spaces have been downsized such that only every 2nd or 3rd office now has a thermostat. It is not uncommon enough for me to find the heat turned up close to 30.

Women will come to work in summer in light dresses and sandals and then complain about how cool the office is. Men on the other hand are forced to wear dress pants and often long sleeved shirts. So they pay for the bad decisions of others.

In addition to sliding down my socks and repeatedly wiping down my forearms with wet paper towels, I long ago resorted to bringing in my own desk fan (regardless of whether or not it’s allowed) and recently discovered that neck fans are now a thing. I keep one in my desk.

    1. The article is highly transphobic what with talk about “biological women” and “biological men” and discussions of how “men” have more muscle then “women” while “women” have more subcutaneous fat then “men”. Very surprising that this article got past the Toronto Star’s editors.

  4. Yup. I used to feel so sorry for those poor things their goosebumps were showing. 🙂

  5. ASHRAE has studied this ad nauseum. Nevertheless, a municipal building survey prior to a renovation showed most desks had an electric portable heater underneath.

  6. Masters of the Obvious.
The clear solution is to replace all women in the workplace with transgender women.

  7. Dummy Thermostats.
Give the whiners a big shiny, adjustable thermostat..
They get hours of entertainment from it.
And most are so happy..even though the room temperature does not change.

Miners have the best take on workplace temperature, they know exactly how to dress, cause they know what the weather is going to be.

  8. As explained to me, a male, by my sister, a female:

A man’s heat is centred in their extremities, arms and legs, their core is cold, hence warm body sleeveless vests with shorts. for building stuff.

A women’s heat is centred in their core, hence long sleeves and covered legs, for growing babies…
