  1. These are the same voters who elected Bill de Blasio in 2014 for eight long years. Even the Chicago Tribune, which hasn’t been Colonel McCormick’s paper in 7 decades, warned NYC voters pre-election about voting for a Socialist. The Editorial Board advised New Yorkers to take a good look at Chicago before voting.

“As of May 2025, the demographic makeup of Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration is about 34% Black, 30% white, 24% Latiné and about 6% Asian, according to the Mayor’s Office. It’s not far off from the overall demographic makeup of Chicago, which is 39% white, 29% Latiné and 28% Black, according to the most recent 2020 census. The following story was written in 2024.”

I think it’s far off the census demographics but doubtless more Whites then blacks fled post census after lockdown and Lightfoot.

  2. The Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment prohibits racial discrimination in government policies, including taxation.

In short, the proposal is really, really unconstitutional.

    1. When did Leftists ever care about Constitutionality except when it benefited them?
The Left always uses the size and power of government to violate the Constitution. The adversely affected have to expend time and resources to undo the Left’s damage. Eventually the adversely affected will run out of resources, which is the Left’s end-game.

      1. If this law is enacted, it will surely be challenged in court. And if that happens, it won’t matter what progressives care about.

        1. Until the sane MAGA Americans are outvoted and the SCOTUS is remade in the colors of Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan, and Sonia Sotomayor … then the court will simply invent a whole new Constitution.

        2. “If this law is enacted, it will surely be challenged in court.”

The same courts that allowed all those frivolous charges against Donald Trump?

      2. “The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

The UK could really use the Iron Lady right about now…

          1. The UK’s UniParty is farrrrrrr more virulent than the USA’s. Thank God … literally … I thank Him … for Trump.

        1. Sullivan Act, 1911. Intended to keep the blacks in their place, incidentally. Don’t forget that part.

“Proper Cause” clause struck down June 23, 2022. Unconstitutional license requirement remains in force. One hundred and eleven years and counting.

          So much for the Constitution.

          1. Whatever. The current SCOTUS would not likely let this stand. Even the progressive justices would likely find this idea repugnant.

            – K. Marmot –

Don’t bet on that. “Justice” KBJ still can’t figure out what a “woman” is despite rumours she could be one. Do you think she’s going to the mat on this one?

          3. Jackson is one person out of nine. The other three left-leaning justices often — although not always — side with the rest.

          4. The Phantom:

            1. I said it was flagrantly unconstitutional. I didn’t say it would be found unconstitutional by the SCOTUS.
            2. But since you bring it up, yes, it probably would be found unconstitutional by the current court.

Go pick a fight somewhere else. This is tiresome.

        2. “Go pick a fight somewhere else.

Stop starting fights you can’t win.

          ” This is tiresome.”

For us as well. Just stop.

          1. You guys insist on replying to my posts. You’re perfectly free not to. Give it a try.

    2. Remember, guys, he’s a bureaucrophile who thinks that anything written down by some form of authority has the force not just of man’s law, but nature’s law.

The taxation policy is unconstitutional (according to eminent Supreme Court Justice K. Marmot, anyway)? Then it never happens. It violates the laws of nature. The Sullivan Act, Kelo vs. New London, Dredd Scott? Morons! (insert GIF of Vizzini from the Princess Bride here).

There’s no point in trying to argue with someone who’s built their entire worldview on Appeal to Authority. You can demonstrate those those authorities have been thoroughly compromised by base motives, as with the ENORMOUS RAT WANG study (oh come on, you knew it was coming), and he’ll just stick his fingers in his ears and sing “La, la, la, I can’t hear you”.

  3. It’s a trend and we can’t escape. Probably Comrade Zohran will not win this time, Trump has his focus on NYC. But he or some other nutjob will win next time. Chow in Toronto, Johnson in Chicago, Bass in LA, it’s normal for NYC to be next. Loud-mouth imbeciles like AOC & Crockett in Congress/Parliament + idiot/clueless Mayors like Chow and this guy: this is the inescapable future for N America.

  4. What about a white family in a black neighborhood, or a black family in a white neighborhood? At what point is a neighborhood white? What if you look white but identify as black?

I would love to see Mamdani as mayor. The path of destruction would be awesome. Best episode of The World’s Most Powerful Storms.

Would not want to be Jewish in New York right now.

    1. If you said in Times Square in 2001 or so, “Hey, New Yorkers, in a mere 24 years not only will your frontrunner for mayor be a racist islamist but a full-bore communist too” you might have been stomped.

Mind-blowing what changes in a quarter century when unfettered leftism is left to metastasize.

    2. Why does latino voters get classified as white for crime stats but not for taxation ?

  5. I recommend leaving any city that can have this conversation out loud.

And the sane have already fled; Oakland (latest communist mayor Barbara Lee), LA (communist mayor Bass), SF (former communist mayor London Breed) … and now even in the small piss ant towns like Cudahy, CA we have communist vice mayors calling for heespanick gang violence against ICE

We’ve been subversively … not overtly communist in CA for DECADES. And the PEOPLE keep voting for it … as if THEY were actually gonna get some of the promised free shit

    1. Everyone thought “Escape From New York” was meant to be dystopian sci-fi, not foreshadowing.

    2. People tend to focus on provincial/state and federal politics and ignore municipal politics, which is where a lot of this stuff directly affects people.

  6. I do not know how US cities calculate property tax but here in Ontario it is based on property values worked out from past sale prices. So in Ontario, a predominately white area would likely pay higher municipal taxes simply because of higher property values. So this tax policy is already somewhat “baked in” to our municipal tax system. Still, one should not say so aloud as progressives might be triggered to augment the disparity.

    1. Trust me … Weiner would be WORSE … far WORSE than Nanci Pelosi ever dreamed of being.

  7. For better or worse, I’m watching all this stuff going on in NYC like I do men dominating in women’s sports. It’s a form of rubbernecking to see just how bad it can get. The City owned grocery stores. That’s a staple of socialist know-it-alls. The last place we saw such recommendations from a high ranking politician was Chicago. I want them to do it (clarification: I want them to do it THERE). Failure Theater is a enticing viewing pleasure of mine.

I’ll tell you the one I REALLY REALLY want them to do (which Mamdani has promised)….and that’s to use eminent domain to “confiscate” luxury apartments within NYC and turn them into low income housing. Because, it’s not just the real estate market that will tank in the city. There’s more to it than that. 75% of those luxury apartments are owned, but never used. They are money laundering tools for the bottom feeders of the world. It’s where criminals across the globe park their investments to avoid legal ramifications in their own countries. I can only imagine how many of them are Ukrainian, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Mexican, UK, French, German, and Australian owned. Then there are all the Middle Eastern states that own luxury units in NYC. It’s a long and distinguished list.

It’s probably not a good idea for an inexperienced politician to stir up the hornet’s nest on a collection of connected foreign “dignitaries.” There are usually ramifications for that sort of behavior.

    1. “Failure Theatre” … all I need is the dulcet narration of Alistair Cooke introducing each new FAIL. Brilliant!

BTW … I am suggesting that these “newcomers” to America have no … HISTORY of our nation. They don’t comprehend the utter FAILURE of their proposals that have already been tried and spectacularly FAILED.
