Because I’m something of a cynic, (alright, a hardcore, crazed cynic) and look askance at most stories about disabled people doing heroic or unexpected things. Yeah, I know … I need to lighten up.
But … I was TRULY IMPRESSED by this blind skateboarder who gave a detailed and demonstrated tour of the skate park he created for BLIND skateboarders. Wow. Absolutely amazing. And so well thought out and explained. What impressed me most is the “matter of fact” tone this AMAZING man adopted … essentially shrugging off his blindness and just going about the business of creating an “accessible” skate park. What a CHAMPION of the human spirit! God bless this man … although it’s obvious he has already been blessed with an indomitable spirit.
