Groupthink Now!

So Ottawa is worried that Canadians have a lot of different opinions. In reality, they’re worried that many of these opinions don’t conform to the dominant collectivist narratives.

The presentation called on session participants to come up with ideas to make Canadian society more cohesive by reversing the trend toward polarization, building trust in government agencies and fighting the swelling tide of misinformation and disinformation.

Still, the document says officials at the November meeting planned to talk about how to ramp up efforts to “engage and ‘bring back’ groups veering away from democratic norms.”

36 Replies to “Groupthink Now!”

  1. I think that “fascistic” or “tyrannical” is the proper spelling of their “democratic” views.

  2. Canada is embarrassingly corrupt, a corruption hidden for decades by a compliant, Liberal-purchased media. Chretien and both Trudeaus sold us out, culminating in the frail, dishonest, feckless lickspittle Carney.
And let’s not forget Mulroney, a Conservative in name only. He was right up there with the worst of them.
I seriously doubt this current bunch could “engage and bring back” any groups veering away from the new “democratic norms”. Such a crock!

    1. No, no, no … it’s … “social fragmentation”. Which ALWAYS means some subset of the population who won’t agree to ignore biology or insist upon REAL, verifiable, science. Some subset of the population who don’t see the sea levels rising at any perceptible rate.

The “fragments” of society … are reported to be the vast majority of logical thinkers who use common sense. Yeah … we’re always reported to be … “fragmented”.

      1. You mean that fact-bound unreasonable group of the population who perversely do not want the security of the state to envelop them in a blanket of safety?

  3. So when you bring in a bunch of people from countries that are hateful to a variety of groups, deemed acceptable to Canadians, and you don’t insist they adapt the “Canadian” perspective of loving everyone and all old hatreds are to be abandoned at the border, guess what you get. A bunch of divergent views that don’t match the “dominant collectivist narratives” of canadians.

Really, they had no clue what the impact would be. What bunch of clowns is running this place? If it is the supposed best academia in Canada can provide, the university system in Canada needs to be burned to the ground and built from scratch.

    1. Really, they had no clue what the impact would be. I maintain they had absolutely this impact in ind, in furtherence of the destruction of the nation-state.

  4. I think of this every time I hear the word “demonocracy”
Demonocracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what’s for dinner.
Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.

    — Benjamin Franklin

  5. But they could not say “Stop Stealing”,now could they.?
Taking ,by force, from the productive and then rewarding the nonproductive most generously..
This could not possibly aggravate the productive.
    Too many takers.
    Too few makers.
And then the assholes robbing us blind have the audacity to lecture us about fairness and tolerance.

And then came the Truckers Protest, were we saw the quality of our elected representatives and the outpouring of support for a real political opposition.
    Cohesive?
These parasites did not even have the guts to talk to the truckers..
But they all “Took a knee” for the Lie of The Year.
    Burn Loot Murder..

  6. Hah. “Misinformation.” Meaning diversity of thought based on commonly agreed facts, but reaching different conclusions.

Previously called “freedom of speech” and “freedom of thought”.

  7. When Mark Carney told Pres. Trump that ‘Canada is not for sale.’
He is correct bc Canada is already sold to China. Therefore, any treatment suffered by the chinese public in the hands of the CCP… Mark Carney is amplifing the same rhetoric in Canada. The chinese state media and Canada’s state are exactly the same.

  8. This country is dead to me. I’ll never feel like a Canadian again. But I really miss the old Canada before it morphed into a post national state.

    1. Many people feel exactly as you do. Traditional Canada has been destroyed. I think the Trudeau government is to blame. Efforts to bring back a feeling of cohesiveness and social connection will not succeed.

      1. You better believe it won’t succeed.
I still have a line of communication to my friends back in Ottawa. I personally know the guy responsible for all those signs you see in the picture of the Glo-Bull “News” article. I can tell you that my friends — a strong “fringe minority” in the city of Ottawa, are determined to free the slaves.
I can also tell you knowing that my friends, including the guy that you can here bellowing in his bull-horn in the background of some of the protest videos you see of turd/carnage, will NEVER give up the fight, because they value their freedom as much as I value mine.
So… the idiots in government back in Ottawa are trying to figure out how to restore the feeling of “cohesiveness” and “trust?” Really? And they think by suppressing my friends’ right to free speech will solve the problem? Are they really that stupid? I can safely say that taking away their right to speak freely ain’t gonna solve the “problem.” It just might have the opposite effect… Big-time backfire!

btw… If anyone here wants to send messages of encouragement to my friends fighting the battle back on the home front, You can use me as your homing pigeon. Heaven knows they can use the encouragement.

        1. Sorry… I meant to say “carrier pigeon.” Time ran out before I could edit the comment.

        2. Second edit: CP, not Glo-Bull. I don’t know how I saw Glo-bull in the by-line. My bad.

      2. Trudeau Pere set it in motion with his ridiculous Charter of Rights and Trudeau Fils implemented it to create the post-national state.

    2. I used to love it too. But it is no more and will never be. I was smart enough to understand what PET was doing to this country when I was a child and I couldn’t understand why people would vote for him. The cowards that Canadians are now is what the were back then. I saw Lorne Green but should have thought Mr Dress Up.

      1. With ya there. Graduation year 1980, I KNEW, not b/c I’m so smart, but b/c I learned how the system was structured and who had the actual power in “Canada,” that Alberta separation was the only way for us to survive. Glad to see more realize this reality.

When Pearson began the lie “we’ve always been a peacekeeping nation,” and when the RCMP saw their own uniform, the famous mountie hat, also a national symbol, could be tossed for a turban, we began ripening into Bananada.

  9. “THAT’S DISINFORMATION!!!!”

    “I disagree.”

    Now what?
    _______________________________

The “Now what?” part of the equation is the most dangerous. Everything from “penalties” to the rabid narcissism of those unable to accept contrary opinion. Who gets to decide what is right, wrong, true, untrue, inflammatory, condescending, informative, sarcastic, illegal, immoral etc. ?

The people initiating a conference to define what is acceptable separate from legislated laws are advocating for censorship under the guise of superiority. MediaSmarts just wants a steady influx of that sweet federal cash. They say as much in the article, which I found funny.

  10. What utter garbage from CP.

“Senior federal officials have been looking quietly for ways to bring together Canadians who don’t see eye to eye on the economy, immigration and social issues.”

This is the agenda CP wants everyone to believe. They are one of the supposed news organizations under increasing attack from non-conventional news sources. They don’t like the fact that the internet is punching the daylights out of mainstream media like them. Remember, CP is simply a collective of the assorted legacy media we all know and despise, like CBC.

  11. The government and media has spent the last 50 odd years chipping away at what made Canada a “high trust” society, bringing multitudes of incompatible groups into the country and telling them that they can keep their culture, and now want to come back from the brink? I think not.

  12. Heh…Canadians with at least half a brain ain’t buying their bullshit.

Solution: Go hard sell on the bullshit.

    Yeah…that’ll work.

  13. Do Canadians envy America where we can all open carry or concealed carry and have AR-10″s and AR-15’s?

My wife and I carry. We don’t want to shoot anyone but when seconds count and the police are 45 minutes away it’s nice to be able to protect each other. I live in a Red State.

I will bet the men of Alberta would like that. Some of the women too. Of course, Rachel Notley and ex-mayor Nenshi probably do not but then vote for your independence and get a 2nd amendment. Nenshi and Notley can vote with their feet and move to PEI or Quebec.

Then the influx of patriotic Canadians from all the other provinces will vote with their feet and Ototoks and Airdrie will expand hugely. It will be like the Oklahoma Land Rush.

    I can dream, can’t I?

  14. Heritage Canada? Policing freedom of speech, is that our heritage? A canadian tradition? Or birthright?

Closed door meetings on how to censor and cancel people or groups is outrageous and is exactly the opposite of what an organization called “Heritage Canada” should be promoting.

Lies, and secrecy, and more lies, all the time from our Liberal racist Party government…

  15. Please trust us as we move towards a one-party state. You will still have freedom of speech within narrowly defined limits. For example, after the leader’s speech, you can say “good” or “very good.” “Interesting” will be problematic as it is probably a code for “bad” (which gets you to front of line at the local m.a.i.d. office).

  16. In the meantime, the On-line Harms bill will go through and they’ll start charging, fining, jailing and dis-employing Christians, Jews and Honkys like there’s no tomorrow.
And that’s how Christians, Jews and Honkeys should start acting.

    1. Well, Buddy… There really is no tomorrow as far as Canada’s democratic future is concerned.

  17. When the first domino falls….many more will follow.
When Alberta has their successful vote …..who’s next?
Will Saskatchewan stand idley by to check Ottawa’s next move?
Will K-bec play second or third fiddle to western provinces capitalizing on a campaign they have levered so well over the decades?
Friends on The Rock say they won’t hesitate to accept an offer from Trump.
The other Atlantic Provinces haven’t even ‘woken’ up to the turmoil ahead.
What about BC….who cares? It’ll take a sunami to cleanze the rot on the lower mainland.
Canada can be toppled by a single domino….how far we’ve fallen.

  18. This is one guy, that will always say NO!
    Just like during Covid.
If anyone’s needs “educated “, it’s these sorry excuses for human beings that actually think people need to be turned into cattle.
Fk them, and the cowardly emptiness they stand for.
And I’m sick of people my age or older smiling and saying “I’m glad I’ll be gone before it hits bottom”.

  19. They clearly don’t get the majority of Albertans. No amount of ass kissing from the parasites in Ottawa will work.

  20. L- To give credit where credit is due. Trudeau said the quiet part out loud years ago. “Canada
has no shared culture, no mainstream values. That makes Canada, the first post nation-state.”
He saw a Canada partially politically disoriented from decades of Cult. Marxist indoctrination.

Having infiltrated federal and provincial institutions, the subversive minority only needed to
seize power cloaked in their under lying malevolence by the presstitutes. In less than 10 years,
with half of that under totalitarian lockdowns of the Wuhan biological/psychological warfare.
This last aspect of C.C.P. “Unrestricted Warfare” captured any and all effective official federal and provincial political opposition. A massive doubling of the national debt, mass 3rd
world migration coupled with shutting down large numbers of small and medium businesses
permanently sealed the deal. What had been a middle-class society was shattered. Three years of setting neighbour agains neighbour, families divided via lockdowns and crime against humanity mandates neutered muscular Canadians, unable to unite against tyranny or so they
    thought.

The Freedom Convoy proved a majority of prairie people had somehow proved immune to the
mind virus. Albertans threw off their chains and decided not to surrender their political heritage. To live out their covenant between past generations, the present generations and
future generations. Courage is contagious, the borders of a Republic of Western Canada may
start small, but would have the potential to attract enough patriots to destroy the globalist
scheme in the Western hemisphere. After all, the NORAD alliance was designed to repel an
infiltration from the C.C.P. ! Cleaning house to casino to money laundering banks … we’ve
fought harder battles against the C.C. P. In Korea.
