  1. This is why many elected Carny Carney and the Lieberals; to put Trump in his place, to force him to respect us.
I will be sure to point out to gleeful Grit grifter gloaters Carney is Trump’s handpicked PM and 51st state stooge.
Canadian voters as a collective are the most gullible fools for fascists, of all time, committing political suicide.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, the perfect the enemy of our good, precisely wrong rather than approximately right, and many other cliches that come to mind describing their depressing, dystopic dementia.

So, imho, is Trump if he thinks he’s going to get anywhere with this insider outsider radical rookie. Or is he?

  2. Funny how the USMCA became the C-USMA…
I must have missed something lol

USMA until Trump graciously let that garden gnome Freeland back into grab the leftovers from the adult table

Can hardly wait until we get access to US banking and poultry prices

    1. USMCA, CUSMA, and T-MEC all refer to the same free trade agreement between the United States, Mexico, and Canada. USMCA is the name used in the United States, CUSMA is the name used in Canada, and T-MEC is the name used in Mexico.

    2. It was ever so. Trump labelled it at the time USMCA and Trudeau with his smirk labelled it CUSMA.

  3. In the book “Art of The Deal” here are the 5 techniques that he used when he was in the Real Estate Business in New York.

This is The Donald’s negotiating strategy that he used consistently for decades. I would guess the majority of the media have never read his book and it shows when they report on him.
    1. Start with an extreme position to create room for compromise.
When he announced his positions on Tariffs they were really unrealistic, 100 % tariffs on some and even more on China. These are extreme positions. He does this so when an actual agreement is reached at lower levels it appears everyone has won something while getting what he wanted in the first place.

    2. Use attention-grabbing statements to control the narrative and put the other side on the defensive.

How about using that Canada should be the 51’st State, or buying Greenland or confiscating The Panama Canal or renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. This put the world on the defensive. It seems to have worked.

    3. Create a sense of urgency to pressure the other side into making concessions.
By immediately implementing Tariffs on Canada and Mexico for their lax treatment of Fentanyl, and posing immediate Tariffs on the whole world with his Reciprocal tariffs, he got everyone’s attention. Nations are now clamouring to get to the negotiating table quickly trying to be the first to get a deal.

    4. Keep the other side guessing about your true intentions and bottom line.
I believe his real target is China. China has taken over the world with it becoming the world’s factory and its Belt and Road program in several countries. China won’t let the wests products into their country without tariffs and rules etc. but still have free Access to wests markets.

Trump has successfully got the western nations trying to make deals with the USA as soon as possible while leaving the Chinese being played as second fiddle. I believe his real intention is to get China to negotiate a trade deal that is more balanced to the US’s interests.

    5. Be willing to walk away if the deal doesn’t meet your standards.

In his book he stresses one should not enter into a negotiation that you are unwilling to walk away from. So for instance if there is a real Estate property you want to buy, and the seller knows that you want it at all costs, you have lost the negotiation and will pay dearly for it. If the deal doesn’t meet your minimum criteria you should walk away from the negotiation and move on.

With regard to the Ukrainian and Russian conflict, I believe he really wanted the killing to stop, but the endless meetings are now becoming fruitless, Marco Rubio said he is not going to fly all over the world to have meetings just to have meetings.

Both sides are not yet at the point where they want peace. So Trump is just going to walk away even though he wants to see a deal closed. But no sense beating a dead horse to death, so he’ll walk away until the warring parties come to the realization that there is no military solution to the conflict and then he will take the position of mediator again.

    CANADA

I note that Trump isn’t flying up to Ottawa to see if he can get a deal. Carney is entering the Lions den in Washington and has already lost the negotiation as he wants a deal at all costs.

    Just a few thoughts.

    1. Nice!

And, let me add, the people who own and operate the liberals need a deal done soonest – and, I assume, Trump et al know it. So my guess is that we get an immediate trade deal Carney will pass off as a great success for Canadian independence but will, in reality, give the US everything it wants on trade while making lots of totally insincere problems about addressing border, defence, and crime issues.

      1. Defence? I bet you the F-35 is back on the shopping list. But I agree with your post. Carney needs a deal pronto. I don’t think Trump will let him weasel out of security issues like drugs, Cartel and CCP influence.

  4. Invasion forces would be just as disappointed in the quality of Tim Horton’s products as we are…

    1. cheap, crappy, unhealthy, overly sweet carbs and bitter coffee …

      1. Steve … your local Timmies must suck at brewing coffee.
The Timmies near me can brew a decent cup and the one I hit driving to and from Fernie in the Crowsnest Pass is good also. Maybe it is the Rocky Mtn water 😉

          1. And if it’s like here, served by the same people who use the beach as a toilet.

  5. The writer of course fails to add this context: the US has CONTINGENCY plans for war with every country on Earth, not just Canada. The greater the threat, the more detailed the contingency plan for war ( eg China or Russia ) In other words, every professional army is charged with the necessity to defend against threats from every possible direction. If , hypothetically, Canada became extremely hostile, and acquired large numbers of strike weapons that could strike the US, or hosted military bases or weapons for a country that is a strategic threat, like China, or seemed to be preparing for war , the US would update its Canadian contingency planning, accordingly.

    1. Trump will ask for base access for any base within 100km of the main pipelines and transmission lines.

  6. A good trick would be rather quickly removing Chinese influnce from Canada without Canadians realizing what chumps they have been. Liberals must be allowrd to save face.

  7. Two hours south of Winnipeg, the US has 150 nuclear missiles aimed at every major Canadian city. Fortunately, the threat of Canadians propelling back bacon frisbees and hurling yellow snowballs at the border guards keeps the situation at DEFCON 5.

      1. There might be 150 places that call themselves cities. There are 53 in BC alone, one of which has fewer than a thousand people.

    1. Yes all the US’ ICBMs are aimed at Canada. Don’t forget nuke subs on Vancouver’s coast.

    2. Trust me. Americans love Canada (at least the ones that know where it is). We do not Quebec or the rest of the Liberal provinces. We already have California. Maybe a trade? You get California, we get prairie provinces.

  8. Carney going to the Whitehouse envisions a rabbit invited to lunch by a wolf. Oh I wish I could draw.

    1. going to be interesting wiht cbcpravda doing spins before during and after.

trump could ask for CBC to be part of X

      1. They already wrote the script. It would have been a tremendous success owing to Carney ‘s galaxy brain and solid economic genius. However bad, bad Orange man bad just destroyed the possibility of an awesome deal with his wild rantings about non-existent drug cartels, CCP political influence or defence issue. It’s all Trump’s fault, 24/7.

  9. Pretty soon, walmart will start selling MILITARY IN A BOX, some assembly required, MADE in CHINA!
(or would that be MAiD in CHINA)

  10. Well, elbows up is the traditional surrender pose.

Western Canada needs to declare war on the USA.
    Then surrender immediately.
Worked for the Japanese and the Germans..except they took too long to surrender.
Orange man bad,Ottawa will surrender without a whimper.
Thou the Libtards are stupid enough to believe that Can Ahh Duh has a “fighting chance”

    1. When one puts their hands behind their heads … in the universal surrender pose … the elbows naturally stick out, and high.

  11. Cue the inevitable 1812 references.
Being that the only history that is taught now is that the pillaging, r@ping white man stormed across the pristine, peaceful, paradise that was North America, we forget that it was the BRITISH that burnt the White House. At the time, there was only Upper and Lower Canada and the Maritimes. Militias and First Nations were key in the defense of the colonies but would not have been able to defend against America had they not been part of the British Empire. You know, that thing we’re trying to forget and erase from our memories.
If not for the protection and power of the Royal Navy, canaduh would have been part of the United States long ago.

    1. and that the troops that burnt the whitehouse were from bermuda , i think they had an upper canada colonel

      1. Had to look it up on the good old Wikipedia.
Ground Commander was from Ireland (now Northern Ireland). Killed after the burning of Washington prior to the Battle of Baltimore. Buried in Halifax
Four regular regiments of the British Army took part and one contingent of the Royal Marines.

No Canadian militia units took part from what I can glean.

  12. I think Trump’s assumption is that it will be easy to incorporate Canada once the Canadian economy tanks. This is true. If we end up with a significant disparity between US and Canadian standards of living, Canadians will gladly join the US. In that context, what exactly would be lost?

    1. We’ve been on that Disparate Road for 10 years now and it has become significant.

      1. Not significant enough to turf the @ssholes who put us there; we just gave them four more years with a “by your leave, Sir”

        mhb23re

  13. My concern is that most Canadians are assuming that Carney (and liberals) want the Canadian economy (and its citizens) to prosper. When I listen to Carney, I fear that we may have it all wrong.
The Liberal Party (and Carney) played up every negative interaction with Trump, because it was a vote winner (for whatever demented reason) in Eastern Canada (and predominantly with boomers).
But Carney’s platform is actually not so much that he wants the Canadian citizen to be better off but that bigger, more centralized government will provide a better solution for the citizenry. In terms of housing, he wants centralized planning and design to mimic the post-WWII effort. In fighting tariffs, he proposes that the federal government will provide funding to affected individuals (note the Liberals get to decide whether you are affected or not). He’s already announced that the pharmacare and dental program will be expanded (essentially pulling the rug out from under the few remaining NDP elected members).

The only thing that stands between Carney and almost unfettered power (and this guy is WAY more dangerous than Trudeau), is the minority government.

My fear is that Carney is going to sacrifice everything and everyone in order to get a majority government. Orange man bad is going to be played out continuously for the coming months and year or two. The F-35 contract will be reviewed (if not cancelled) to further provoke President Trump. The federal government is willing to throw a tariff on to exported oil and gas (note it won’t be energy because that could affect electricity exports from Ontario and Quebec) and potash. It will drive Alberta and Saskatchewan mad. But Carney won’t care because it will infuriate Trump and keep the Trump-bashing alive and well in the press (and in Eastern Canada).

The overall goal is power and the Liberals need a majority to continue the structural changes that Trudeau started. The Liberals will be positioning themselves to try and win that majority by doubling down on tariffs and counter-tariffs with the United States. It worked for one election, why wouldn’t it work for the next one? The Liberals will state (and the purchased press will back them up) that all of the negative economic consequences are Trump’s fault. The reality being is that the past decade has hollowed out any productivity in our country and we actually created our own mess.

Just my $0.02. But I think we will find out soon enough how the first interactions go when Carney and Trump meet.

    1. “My fear is that Carney is going to sacrifice everything and everyone in order to get a majority government.”
Happening behind the scene as we type.
Whatever bribe, extortion or flattery is required to have the remaining NDP become Liberals or sway a couple of Progressive Cons.
Amazing what kind of bribes you can offer, when you hold the government borrowing card.
And what kind of pressure you can bring, when you are Dear Leader of Canada.
The Loyal Hencemen, err Horsemen are franticly researching every elected MP ,the weakest and most corrupt will be “Liberal Members of Parliament”by next month.
      Ain’t Kleptocracy Grand?

  14. If the US simply meets the oppressed citizens of Alberta and SK at the border and hands out those horrific assault rifles, the matter will take care of itself.

  15. Can we now drop the idea that “Make Canada the 51st state” is a troll?

The idea never held up anyway,

  16. Annex what?.. Trumps a dick and we are more useful in our failures than joining the USA.. We are the MAGA measuring stick, and you can thank our liberals for that.. The game is, how long will it take for reality to Trump politics?..

Trump was funny for 10 minutes, 8 years ago.. I’m no fan..
