    1. Let’s not go down this road again, raising false hopes. We know the system is corrupt. We also know that there’s nothing we can do to fix this corruption, not while it serves the interest of the corrupt government.
      Rather than fixate on “investigating this corruption,” which I am convinced will lead to nowhere, I have decided that my time would be better invested on working toward the goal of Alberta leaving this corrupt nation altogether.

    1. My main thought was public servant growth, but I don’t claim to be right.
      Certainly the immigrant factor makes a difference when Muslims hate the fact that PP thinks Jewish women shouldn’t be kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered.
      Hamas is very comfortable chanting Death to Jews in Ottawa.

      Carnage has added Mark Wiseman to his team and that dude will push to have the immigrant faucet blown wide open.
      Carnage will oblige and it will make his soviet housing model idiocy seem normal to Liberal retards.

      And that’s why I think PP should “retire” as leader – there will never be another Con rep in Greater Ottawa, despite growth in seats and votes.
      A new leader will be needed to get them over the hump.

      1. Lewis? I like her. I actually voted for her in the last leadership race as my first choice but mostly out of respect, with Pierre second expecting him to win. Despite all the positives I don’t think she can do what Pierre can. I don’t think she has the mass appeal. Pierre still does.

        They need to parachute Pierre into a safe riding, the current representative step down and run a byelection. Would not be the first time in Canadian history this happened. All my contacts within rank and file want Pierre to stay as leader. Harper, Sheer, both former leaders who resigned after losing, want him to stay. I think he has amassed so much good will and so much grass roots support that retiring would be a huge blow to the party.

        And he has time to comeback. Parliament with reconvene end of May/early June, seat for two weeks and the close for the summer. That is provided we actually going to get the budget passed. Though probably we will thanks to NDP bottom bitches.

      2. One other thing, I am getting lots of signals that Conservatives won a good portion of immigrant vote. No solid analysis yet, but basically those immigrants who stand on their feet and succeed tend to vote conservative and oppose mass immigration. That partly explains why Cons won the under 50 demographic.

          Certainly nothing needs to be rushed and I’m no expert.

    2. Ah, yes. Findlay Creek. I know the neighborhood quite well. Not to dispute your post entirely, but I can say that moving Findlay Creek, a very quiet urban bedroom neighborhood, to Ottawa South may have actually helped PP. I can’t say what impact, if any, that the other changes could have had on PP’s chances winning the seat, except for the migration –and the extended ballot– DEFINETELY having a negative impact, without a doubt.

    1. As I stated elsewhere… I will not go down this road again. I don’t care how the result was arrived at. The very fact that the electoral process is suspect proves that the country is corrupted to the core, and is no longer worth my time and energy to save it, or to overturn the outcome. That is not a productive use of my time. I will instead put my efforts into a potentially achievable objective — Alberta independence.

  10. If you look at housing prices (America, nationwide) from 1950 to present, prices increased an average rate of 6% per year. If you look at the money supply (America, M2 & M3) from 1970 to present, it increased an average rate of 8% per year.

    The money supply increased at a greater rate than housing prices appreciated meaning you have lost value in your home to inflation. What does the government want to do to correct that problem? In Canada the government wants to tax you on the capital gain when you sell your home. In other words they want to tax you on the inflation they created by printing money. And you just voted to accept that. And you believe the government when they claim inflation has averaged 2%.

      The Canadian economy has been going downhill for a while in spite of the increasing GDP because of the massive growth in government. The legacy media has not been covering how bad the real economy (excluding government) has been doing. If the tanking economy becomes apparent to everybody in the next 18 months, this will have to finally be blamed on Liberal policies and they won’t be able to blame it on a Conservative government, allowing for a Pierre Poilievre comeback if the Conservatives have the sense to get behind him.

        How is Poilievre an improvement over either of them? The man needs to grow a spine and start acting like a conservative. He COULD HAVE WON. He chose to take the safe, easy route and parrot Liberal policies instead. But like many other ‘progressive’ conservatives, he discovered that Canadians often eschew Liberal Lite when they have genuine Liberals to vote for.

        1. As I said before, if you have another suggestion I would like to hear it and your reasoning for it.

          Often during campaigns issues are avoided if they poll badly, like on abortion or drastically cutting back on immigration, for the sake of winning. And yes, I am against most abortions (unless it involves rape, incest, or the very likely life of the mother) and want immigration to go down to almost nothing. I was really pissed off when the Liberals removed section 38 (1)c of the immigration act that made people ineligible for entry to Canada if they were likely to be a burden on our healthcare system.

          When Jason Kenney was the Minister of Immigration & Citizenship he completely ignored that clause in the law even letting in a Polish man whose stated reason for claiming asylum was that he couldn’t afford his AIDS drugs! Hmmm… I don’t think Kenney was ever married…

          How many times do politicians do something different in either direction or in magnitude than what they campaigned on? Jean Chretien said he was going to axe the GST, and once he won in 1993, he left it in place.

          Then there is also the issue, of reviewing the guidance given by campaign managers, advisors and party pollsters.

          I think the big factors in this election were the Greens pulling most of their candidates, the NDP crashing, the Bloc losing supporters and the biggest three words of the campaign, “fifty-first state”.

          And yes, to those who disagree, I really would like to hear who you would suggest and why, to see if there is a good alternative.

            You will never find a conservative who will act and campaign as a conservative more than PP. The sad reality is that Canada is a far-left, Liberal country. A truly conservative leader would have been banished to the political fringe. Just look at Mad Max as an example.
            Unfortunately, the reality is that PP had to temper his conservative rhetoric to open up the big tent. Had he not done so, I’m pretty sure that he would not have gotten 41% of the popular vote. His support, in my estimation, would have dropped into the single digits.

            The sad fact is that there are nowhere near enough conservatives in the country to actually vote for a real conservative. The best we can do is libtard light, which is nowhere near enough to save this benighted craphole.

      2. Leslyn Lewis is more conservative than PP and was the only CPC that supported the Freedom Convoy. Make her the next leader.
        PP never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity just like his predecessors. He also shot himself in the foot by going TDS, supporting making conversion therapy a capital crime, condemning Christine Anderson and the MPs who met with her. Lewis was one of those MPs that PP condemned.

        1. He also voted to call the Proud Boys terrorists, and voted to investigate the Trucker’s funding. Definitely not a conservative.

        2. I truly love Leslyn Lewis, and I appreciate her standing up for the trucker convoy, but I’m sorry… her social conservative creds would make her unelectable in Canada.

            That’s why Canada might need to crash and burn, FC: to allow the creation of an environment where a real conservative *can* get elected. Or maybe, just maybe, when Trump turns the US economy around and America starts to boom again, people here standing in food lines might take notice and get their act together. If not, that’s okay too…as people are forced to watch their children’s futures grow inevitably bleaker and home ownership becomes a distant dream, at some point they *will* come to their senses. As I’ve said all along, I hope it won’t have to come to that…but that’s not my choice to make. All I can do is refuse to perpetuate the system we have now, where the Liberals and Conservatives swap power every decade or so but are careful to make no meaningful changes in our downhill slide.

            Voting LPC or CPC is like voting for Coke or Pepsi. Liberal, Tory, same old story…

      3. Yes, everything points to Pierre staying. Endorsements from former PM and party leaders, huge grass roots support. No challenges and universal hate for Ford. So far it looks good for Pierre.

        You can’t reason with Maxipads. They’re controlled Librano opposition, about as genuine like as an eleven dollar bill.

I voted PPC in the previous two elections because I considered Andrew Scheer and his resume a fraud, and I didn’t like Erin O’Toole for what he did to veterans even though he was one, and with how poorly he treated Pierre P even though Pierre had been a faithful foot soldier to the party for a decade and a half.

          While I might like Max’s platform, I always had doubts about his judgement over leaving confidential documents and his laptop and his biker-babe’s place as a government Minister in the Harper government.

            I am on the record at SDA supporting Maxipad in the past leadership race (the one Dairy Queen won). He lost all my support when he threw a tantrum and decided to work for Libranos. And before someone objects, words mean nothing, intent does not interest me, actions have consequences, consequences are what matter.

            I fully intended to vote PPC, but was shocked to learn at the ballot box that the candidate’s name was dropped, so I voted for the only other choice possible. As a result, the PPC no longer appeals to me as a credible party. I’d rather vote Christian Heritage, but alas, they didn’t run a candidate in my riding either. Oh well… Could have been worse. What’s worse than having too few candidates run in your riding? Why, having too many, of course! Right, Carlton?

        Stop ‘settling’ for fake conservatives. Demand better…demand a leader with real conservative principles who is both intelligent enough and eloquent enough to debate and defend those principles in public, and is also willing to *challenge* his/her opponents to have that public discussion.

        It’s the only thing we haven’t tried yet. That alone should make it worthwhile, because cosplaying as Liberal Lites just isn’t working for us anymore.

  13. The insufferable ndp Nikki Ashton lost her seat on Monday. A grifter and expense account cheater she comes from a like minded family. She would have had her eye on jaggi’s job but now may be deterred. We can only hope.

    1. I fully agree on Ashton.

      Someone I know was talking about former Ontario MPP Bhutila Karpoche, who did not run again so she could run federally. At his door she was talking about how she had planned to run for the federal NDP leadership, saying that her party needed someone intelligent and photogenic. I’m glad she burned herself with her blind ambition and arrogance.

    1. Yes, Cardinal Sarah would be a good choice, but remember, it was Pope Francis that named a vast majority (not sure of the exact numbers) of cardinals who are eligible to vote in the upcoming conclave.
      This means that Sarah, an outspoken opponent to Francis, is not likely to be selected.

    1. I’ll offer a suggestion as to the ethnicity of the family, knowing Ottawa cops as well as I do.
      I’ll even go so far as to suggest that the family was not Catholic, or otherwise Christian.
