    What an utter waste! Taking the best and brightest of Canada and the U.S. and putting them through the Euro meat grinder and for what? Next time…and there will be a next time just as sure as I’m sitting here, North America will be called upon to bail them out again.
    I hope NA has the good sense to stay out of it this time but I have my doubts. Having other people’s kids fight wars is as easy as falling off a log.

  5. One would think the French would have a better recollection than anyone of what tends to happen to disconnected autocratic elites when they run roughshod over “the rights of man”.

    In the immortal words of Alan Sherman,

    1. Finish what was started you mean.
      All it’s going to take is a wee little push.
      Towards something new and “improved”.
      It’s almost like watching humans being domesticated, by the real animals.
      That’s how I see it anyway.
      You have to ask yourself what are they trying to save? They have turned their own countries into a bunch of tribes, and they suck at being chiefs, but they profit off of it.

  10. There was a time when the intelligence community was partially staffed with knowledgeable, results driven pragmatists. Today, however, it is staffed with academic, utopian seeking nit wits. They can’t conceive of Nationalism or Populism, and thus, they don’t understand it. As a result, they have no idea how to take it down, and are, actually, proceeding with a strategy which will have the opposite effect in the long run.

    For example, they have been pushing hard to have the AfD in Germany labeled as a radical danger. In a period of just a year, AfD has gone from irrelevant to the second most popular party in the country. On election day, they were about 8% points below the leader. Today, they are 3% points behind the leader. What do you think happens in the next election?

    The current trend on nationalist leaders is to bump up some questionable legal charges and remove an individual from the election. THAT, doesn’t stop the movement. It unites it, grows it, strengthens it. If they really understood Nationalism and populism they WOULDN’T be doing short term damage control by taking out an individual they deem too popular with trumped up charges. They would be planting stories in the press and setting up evidence to show that person NOT to be a Nationalist or a Populist. They would try and convince the followers that their leader is no different from the current leaders. But, they can’t conceive of that because of pride, ego, and ignorance as to what the populations of these countries is really saying.

    The intelligence communities are doing a short term fix that guarantees a long term tidal wave of everything they are against.

    1. 2 years served; 2 years house arrest. So, no risk there. However, I think it likely her appeal will over turn the charges. They’re shaky at best. They just wanted her out of the election.

      This is going to backfire royally. If you own a car in Paris, I’d recommend moving it somewhere else.

      1. One pundit said the 5 year ” unable to run” penalty isn’t subject to appeal.
        It is criminal if that is the case but typical of euro weinie politics.

  14. See … it’s simple … label Marine, Trump, and the others “far-right” which is media code for “Natzi” … and then you can do ANYTHING to them. The far-left don’t want to risk making martyrs to the cause of conservatism by murdering them … although in Trump’s case, that was the ONLY insurance policy left … so they Lawfare our Party Leaders to death.

    Eventually … this will devolve into a shooting war. I’m sad for my grandsons. Don’t wanna see them reduced to crosses in Normandy.
