2. How many people have heard of “Project Castillo?” It’s a law enforcement operation that led to Toronto’s biggest drug bust ever. It occurred in January of this year. The bust pulled in 835 kg’s of cocaine with a street value over $80 Million. It involved a Mexican Drug Cartel (in this case, Jalisco New Generation Cartel). That particular cartel is run by an ex-cop from Mexico who goes by the name “El Mencho.” They are currently set-up and operating out of Markham, Mississauga and Toronto. 90% of the drug seizures in Canada involving a Mexican cartel are through the Sinaloa Cartel. This is one of the first with Jalisco. Authorities won’t say anything about how the drugs were entering Canada. That’s purposeful, because it’s likely coming in through the ports.

   One of the guys arrested was from Niagara Falls…so you can make the obvious assumption of where these drugs were headed.

         So, 43 lbs. of fentanyl has the potential to kill 9.5 Million people.

         (about 2.2 pounds in one kg… 43 lbs = about 19.5 kg…. 19.5 x 500,000= 9.5 million)
