National Post- The most telling indicator that the Liberals remain doomed
As of press time, 35 of the Liberals’ 153 MPs have announced their intention not to run for re-election. Fourteen of the 35 departing Liberals are current or former cabinet ministers, including the reigning attorney general, Arif Virani.
Or, Carney’s cleaning house.
Seems to me the Liberals are hiding Carney. They’ve practically anointed him, they certainly want to get Trudeau off the stage, and yet where are the big public appearances to show off their new shiny toy?
I think the more likely path is quick election call right after he gets anointed leader to try & capitalize on the Liberal polling rebound, preventing an extended period of Conservative attacks, run hard against Trump rather than the Conservatives, and allow Carney to be something of an empty slate so that gullible voters can pretend he’s whatever they want him to be.
This country may well be stupid enough to fall for it. It elected Justin thrice, after all.

From what Ive seen on my MSN feed, people aren’t buying Con Carney or a rebranding of shitty Liberals as anything other than manure.
Go look at 338. The trend line is alarming and depressing. Last projection had the CPC at a threadbare majority, a drop of something like 60 seats since Trudeau announced he was stepping down.
There’s a severe age break in the polling. The 55+ crowd are running back to big daddy Liberal now that they see their shiny new respected leader because Poilievre gives them the “ick” factor. The younger age groups, seeing how broken Canada is for them, are sticking with CPC, at least for now. Turnout may really drive the result and unfortunately we know that the younger demographics tend not to turn out like the 55+ do…
They have to limit Carney’s appearances. He knows nothing about retail politics He’s incapable of relating to the average voter. As a WEF board member, let alone being governor of two national banks, he’s an elitist twat. If he’s allowed to contact directly ordinary voters, he will only have the Inverse Midas Syndrome. (So maybe voters should be exposed to Carney as much as possible.)

A few short weeks ago, a poll stated 30% of Canadians approved of Trump. The vast majority of those are in the CPC. Pepe is blowing it, as usual.
Completely. The surest path to victory for the Liberals is if CPC supporters simply stay home. Which we will, again, if we have yet another campaign with a milquetoast lib-lite leader at the helm. I would very much like the PPC to have even a shot but all the momentum is gone there. Looks a bit like Polievre pulled what Prentice did to Alberta, came out of the gate sounding good followed by an immediate leftward heel turn.
