  1. Fact is, Costco carries more Canadian, and more specifically out here Albertan, produced groceries than either Loblaw’s or Sobey’s, at better prices to boot. Have no idea if the producers get a better deal from Costco but I sure hope it’s not worse than what they get from Superstore who won’t buy Alberta goods anyway.

And frankly, see all prior comments about how disingenous this sudden onset of BS patriotism for a bullshit country. The Weston’s and their LPC pals are the enemy here, not the Yankees for having the audacity to point it out.

  2. We currently can’t afford to boycott EVERY business that insists on being woke, but we would boycott those businesses if the Liberals took a break from simultaneously destroying international trade relations as well as our own domestic economy.

  3. The majority of people who reached out to the Star for this story also pointed to Costco’s commitment to its diversity, equity and inclusion practices (DEI) as another reason for their continued loyalty.

    Said no Endeavour passenger ever.

    1. Where else can you go to get a good laugh at the blue/pink/purple/green haired dyke with a box full of fishing tackle in its face?

    2. “The majority of people who reached out to the Star for this story also pointed to Costco’s commitment to its diversity, equity and inclusion practices (DEI) as another reason for their continued loyalty. ”

Yes, it comes as no surprise the the readers of the Red Star would feel that way.

      1. Yeah. I wonder how many COSTCO shoppers they had to go through before they found one who knew WTF the Star was talking about.

  4. Now if Costco would only stop blade tenderizing their strip loin and rib eye steaks which turn to mush when cooked. That and halal chicken too.

    1. Weirdly they only do the tenderizing on the cut steaks, I don’t often buy steaks there for that very reason.

  5. LOL…Never get between a sanctimonious (Liberal more often than not) Canadian and his or her wallet. Patriotism? Pffffffttt…”that’s what stupid Americans do before each ball game”.
I know…I live among them. They’re hypocrisy is jaw dropping.

  6. “Costco, the popular, membership-only, American-owned big-box retailer founded and headquartered in Washington state, seems to have emerged as an exception to many peoples’ rule to avoid American products and companies. ”

The Star counts the old way: One, two, three, many, lots.

  7. I wouldn’t know. I’ve been unable to get into my local Costco for months because it’s wall-to-wall brown people and the parking lot is completely full from opening to close. Great for Costco, I suppose, but I’ve taken to driving 20 minutes to the next nearest.

  8. This current false patriotism is BS. The hypnotized are following the msm for their instructions. I personally don’t believe it is as strong a movement as the gov’t and msm want you to believe. If they were really patriots they would have been there for the truckers.

Besides, with the crappy economy created by Trudeau and Co. who can afford to give up any extra savings to make ends meet?

Costco is pretty good in my area. Doors are usually open by 8:30 and the crowd is not too bad, mostly older (White) people trying to beat the rush, just like me.
Drop off the propane tanks for a fill up, Grams goes in and starts shopping by following the list and looking for specials, I join her when the tanks are done. Take a good look through the meat area for specials for the smokers. Complete the list, hit the cash (usually the one with a Downs Syndrome packer, guy’s a hoot), pick up the tanks and on the road before an hour is up.
Not changing the lower costs and convenience for the BS Trudeau and Co. are putting out. If they’d done their job in the first place we wouldn’t be here.

ps: Never was a Walmart fan

  9. Patriotism means buying Canadian?
(I always have when I could, but that’s a pretty low bar.)
When people start making exceptions or rationalizations, like I do with beer drinking, you know they’re lying.

  10. I refuse to buy into this BS “patriotism” and am very disappointed in how many people I know who do. I will shop where I want,it’s my money,I earned it, and the government can go to hell.
Every “patriot” who drives an American vehicle should park it immediately, and remember to buy your citrus fruits that are grown in Canada.

Allah almighty people are easily led!

    1. I will continue to buy what ever based on price and quality. I might even choose American over Canadian as sort of a punishment.

  11. Buy Canadian? Then make something that I want to buy.

The only brand of sweet pickled beets that I can find are at Costco, “Safie” brand from Michigan. The rest are all unsweetened. The big “Canadian” brand, Bick’s, has been American for years now too, also unsweetened.

They are from Chesterfield Michigan though, and since in Canada a sofa or couch is (was?) called a chesterfield, close enough………………..

  12. Virtue signalling on steroids. The BooBirds are the same people who still wear a mask while driving by themselves.

  13. The government of canada and it’s partners in conspiring against canadians, the milk marketing cartels make it so that Costco is about the only place to reasonably buy butter, milk and eggs, since Costco treats them as very close to loss leaders.

Our “Canadian Champion” stores, who have engaged in price fixing before, do not do the same.

  14. Buying Canadian, our mantra since 1950.

Today. I bought Canadian, I bought a new American made pressure washer at a Canadian brand owned by Lowe’s. Alas my last American made pressure washer was stolen in a garage break-in by Canadians (maybe).

After the purchase, seeking Canadian coffee, I was forced to choose, (fun fact, we don’t grow coffee).

I will never buy my coffee from Tim’s.
fake Canadian brand. Still majority owned by Brazilians and that yankee from Berkshire Hathaway (where I own a couple of units).

Rather i bought my cup from that fine Scottish brand MacDonald’s (where I also own a few units) and their coffee is superior (and probably from Brazil).

Hand it to my super woke Scotch brothers, er, siblings, to perfect coffee. Now if only their burger empire would punt that wretched Ameticanized MacRib monstrosity for the superior MacHaggis.

I keep writing them about this (on Canadian pulp bleached lily white with Chinese bleach (60% fentanyl free guarantee) with Laurentian pencils (Chinese rubber erasers, guaranteed 80% fentanyl free and 100% natural Brazxian rubber free)..

Honestly I have nothing against Brazilians. I even enjoy their fine waxes (Chinese wax, it helps if they aren’t fentanyl free).

#Kabuki. (Do we still use hashtags?).
